Huckabee know doubt has done himself the most good with these debates. He's really got a good grasp of the issues and he's not a fake like Romney.
However, his record as governor of Arkansas will not please conservatives once they dig deeper, which they will if he starts doing well in the polls. The guy is like Bush when it comes to spending.
Paul's big moment is going to be New Hampshire. He's got a dedicated base there that could push him up to 10% or more of the vote. Then there's Texas a couple of weeks later, where he's also fairly popular. He probably can't win, in part because he alienates the 80% of the party that is not libertarian, but he could win enough delegates to have some influence on the platform and a chance to speak at the convention.
Then there's the chance that he could run for President and steal votes from the Republican nominee. I wonder how much it would be worth to the GOP to keep him from running on the LP ticket?
