Edwards' departure: Who will benefit?

I'm assuming John Edwards will come in third in South Carolina, which will probably be the last straw for him. I see no scenario in which his campaign gains any momentum to take down either Clinton or Obama.

So the question is: Who will Edwards supporters throw their support to after he drops out? Clinton or Obama?

With the race being very tight between the top two, Edwards' supporters could be the difference.

So do we think Obama will get the Edwards people because he's anti-Clinton?

Or will Clinton get the Edwards votes?

Or will the Edwards people even bother to throw support toward anyone else? Will it be split between Barack and Billary?

What say you forum members?

Conventional wisdom says Obama, because he's also an inexperienced, high energy, "change" candidate.

I don't know if that's true though.

I would actually think Hillary. Edwards has come to support Obama over Hillary, but most of his supporters (from what I've seen) aren't the type that would be undecided between Hillary and Obama. Most of his supporters are older, and much more likely to support the "establishment" candidate.
