Isn't It Wrong to Elect Based on Sex or Race?

For objectiveness I am not going to reveal my race, sex or political views.

I have been listening to a lot of radio, NPR, and BBC and so on. They are chalk full of these seemingly innocent interviews of voters i.e. moms in New Hampshire answering questions and they gleefully say that they 're going to make history with a woman president and get their kids to say Hillary in a cute voice on there way to the primary or school or wherever around town. Similar interviews can be heard all the time from blacks (whites too) in relation to the Obama campaign especially as we move into South Carolina.

Has anybody stopped to think that sex/race are terrible reasons to elect somebody? Should they play even a small part in your decision?

There is something very warped about that? Its almost the exact inverse of saying I don't want to vote Obama because he's is black or Hillary because she's a woman.

It isn't the most irrational thing I've ever heard but it seems to be the gleeful chant of so many voters yet goes against the basic principals of justice.

Why aren't more people publicly objecting this type of rational?

Voters should vote independent of their anatomical similarities to a candidate regardless of how "much history" they are going to make.

During the ABC debates Hillary referred to the "great change" she would implement --- "Having the first woman president. Isn't that change enough?!" People actually clapped.

If you break it down this is actually an ignorant position(if you can call it that) or statement. Besides the fact that its self-referential and means nothing; it is sexist! Seriously.

What if a white male candidate said "You want stability?!.... you vote a male/white candidate.... that's how you get stability!"

I know we've all come to accept the double standard (although ironically men make-up less population of the two sexes) but these are our core values, this isn't some late night comedy bash.....

Isn't it just as racist and sexist to exclude or include anybody because of these uncontrollable traits?

I agree that it is completely wrong to elect based on our race or gender. I would like to further add that in my opinion the reason race and gender are allowed to be a factor is because people continue to make it a factor. People no matter their race continue to play the victim in order to recieve attention or make excuses why they are not successful or how they are segragated. There are so many double standards that are not only allowed but accepted. We no longer live in the past where segragation is tolerated or accepted. It seems that if someone wants to make a statistic to fit the point they are trying to make they can.

I would just like to say that if you want to succeed grab a book and educate yourself so you can contribute to society and provide for yourself and your family.

It is not wrong but it is stupid. People have the right to vote based upon any reason they choose but some voters are wise and some are stupid.

Hillary couldn't land a dog-catcher job.

She couldn't even deliver newspapers.

She's NEVER WORKED A REAL JOB IN HER WHOLE LIFE.

Nor has O'Bomber for that matter.

For these reasons alone - you gotta vote for Rudy.

She landed a job in New York to the U.S. Senate. Twice.

Race and gender are the only differences between the candidates in the Democratic field, so they become important in decision making.

Do you want your liberal lawyer senator to be white, black, male, or female?

If you chose female and black please pick again.
