New York's GOP Spreading The Love To Their Own: Rudy Leading The State.

Source: The Daily Politics - NY Daily News

Quote:
"We strongly believe Rudy is the best person to be president," Walter said in an e-mail. "We are coordinating with his campaign several times a week and are helping in a variety of different ways."

According to Walter, nearly 1,000 New Yorkers have made weekend trips to New Hampshire on Giuliani's behalf. This past weekend, 250 Empire State residents (including Walter himself) made the trek, either by bus or by car, to knock on more than 7,500 doors and call 15,000 voters.

"New York's volunteer efforts have been focused on weekends," Walter said. "The volunteers work during the week, as do the people they are trying to contact."

All told, Walter said, New Yorkers have made 66,000 calls to New Hampshire for Giuliani (that includes phone banks operating here at home). The calls will continue through the primary voting today.

A number of GOP county chairs and electeds have gone to New Hampshire to stump for Rudy and/or sent buses of volunteers from their districts to help him. State GOP/Nassau County GOP Chairman Joe Mondello has not made the trip, although he did join one of his predecessors, former state Chair Bill Powers, who is co-chairing Giuliani's New York campaign, in submitting the ex-mayor's request to be on the NY ballot.

The state's other top GOP leaders, Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno and Assembly Minority Leader Jim Tedisco, haven't gone to New Hampshire, either. Although they both enthusiastically endorsed Giuliani last May.

State Senate Republican Campaign Committee Executive Director Ed Lurie said the Senate doesn't have a federal account, and so is limited in what it can do for Giuliani. The focus has been largely on providing volunteers.

"We're doing everything we can for him," Lurie said. "But now we have a special going on here, so there's a lot of effort going to that."

Lurie said be believes Giuliani's firewall strategy "makes sense." But he downplayed the idea that the Senate majority will be in trouble if the former mayor isn't at the top of the ticket come November.

"We won when we had Pierre Rinfret; we won when George Bush was supposed to go down the tubes," Lurie said. "It still comes down to candidate A against candidate B in local races. Does (the presidential race) have ancillary effects, like who comes out to vote? Of course it does. There's only so much you can do. You do your best, and you hope God likes you."
If Rudy wins Florida, California, New York...he will win the Pub Nomination. As much as these traitor firefighters give across the country in their shameful and ridiculous democrat backed tour, New York still loves Rudy!

No doubt.

2008: Rudy Full Of Energy..According To MSNBC, At His Best

Quote:
GIULIANI: In an enthusiastic performance yesterday, Giuliani said the type of change Democrats were striving for was “to take the change out of my pocket,” NBC/NJ’s Matthew Berger says. He contrasted the changes he wants to make versus those of the Democratic candidates. “When you see their slogan ‘change,’ put right next to it, ‘yes, they want to take the change out of my pocket,’” he said. “They do. I’m not kidding.”

For the third time in a week, Giuliani was heckled by pro-life activists. As a woman began to ask a final question, a young man stood up and yelled, “What about the unborn?” The female questioner began yelling, “My turn! I have the right! He’s out of line! Where are Roberts Rules of Order?”

As the man was escorted out of the room to boos, Giuliani joked, “It’s OK, I come from New York.”

Indeed, Berger adds, Giuliani seemed to be at his best yesterday -- with high doses of energy and thinly veiled zingers at Romney and Clinton that landed well and drew laughs. Giuliani has seemed hesitant and timid since his health scare several weeks ago, and campaign aides are suggesting they hope the afternoon performance is the start of good things to come. Of course, it is way too late for New Hampshire, but Florida has always been there most important victory.

In the end, Giuliani's decision to largely bypass Iowa and New Hampshire may not be the cause of the recent slide in his standing. It may be the combination of skipping the early states and working around the national media. When the national press went to Des Moines and Manchester and Rudy wasn't there, the fact that they hadn't forged good ties with the national media meant they could call in few favors to get back into the dialogue.
Rudy is getting that press again that pushed him up to the front runner. Huck's momentum has been dying for a long time, Romney's dead, McCain has reached his max and Rudy's momentum still is building. After winning the debate the other night, he has been gaining throughout the country.

Even a large portion of Free Republic conservatives, home to 50,000 influential conservatives, have started to support him.
