The Republican Frontrunner nationwide: Huckabee

RealClearPolitics - Election 2008 - Republican Presidential Nomination

However, Mike Huckabee is shown to be losing pretty badly against Hillary and Obama.

this will last for say a week. Giuliani will be right back up. he's been getting good press again. f....g finally. Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and he’s got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen again to the more conservative Catholic-supporting Giuliani

Problem with that is Catholics are a minority in this country.

I suspect that McCain is Obama's strongest opponent. The only problem with McCain is that he's just too old. What like 71 now? A human being really loses a lot of their energy at that point.

I don't know about Huckabee. He's also unpredictable, just like Obama.

If Huckabee wins the primary and/or general election I will have officially lost faith in this country. I'd rather see Obama win than Huck. At least with Obama, assuming he grows the size of government and taxes, the people will get to see how awful the democrats platform is. If Huck, "Jesus' choice", wins the religious folk will get the idea that most people want someone who's going to pray about decisions rather than think them out logically and use religion to set policy. I'll tell you this, if it is Obama against Huck or Romney, I'll be voting democrat. If it is Hillary vs. the nuts, I'll just have to sit this one out... again.

Romney is the best thing since Bob Dole. I could not have wished a more awful punishment on the pubs than Romney. If I didn't like Huck so much, I would wish that Romney won the GOP nomination.

I'm pretty sure that McCain is 72 now. Obama's under 50, right?

The Democrats have had strong showings against Republicans in polls, but all of their leads have been falling. The latest show that Romney and Giuliani are ahead of Clinton (albeit barely and within margin of error), and Huckabee is shown to be just a few points behind. Obama has strong leads, but what is important to notice is the trend. Three months ago everyone knew Hillary and Obama, but few knew Romney, fewer knew Huckabee. Now that they're getting recognized they are faring better, and they will continue to rise in polls pitting them against Democrats.

McCain is an old, grumpy fogie. Get him off the screen. He's blinding my young, precious eyes.

k, thanks

OK. I think that a Catholic Priest gave a similiar commentary on this:

A man who says that abortion is wrong, or that it is murder, but says that he supports the legality of it is worse than the man who beleives that it not immoral and supports the legality of it. Who is worse: the man who recognizes an evil but supports it, or the man who is ingnorant of an evil in an act but supports it?

Granted, the Priest spoke much more eloquently, but I don't care for eloquence right now.
