If We Want To Be Honest.....

As I listen, watch, and observe the current political standing of the Presidential Candidates that are out there, I cannot help but notice that there really is nobody worth voting for. Nobody whatsoever.

There is not a single candidate Republican or Democrat that has any knowledge of what this nation's government was designed to do. The government of this nation was designed to allow people to be free and to be distant from their government. There was no desire to create a nation with an overbearing, overreaching Federal government, yet all I see is that very thing being touted in every debate.

Where is the candidate who is truly for less government intervention? The one for cutting government spending? The one who wants to cut government programs? The one who says," Our government is too big"? There is no candidate doing this.

All I hear is who is gonna give us the best government UHC. Who is more for change. Who has more experince. Who is fighting for the middle class harder. Who has gone after the big oil, big pharmacutical, big insurance, etc harder and more efficiently.

And I hear it from both sides. The same stuff said in a different manner. We are becoming the very thing that we fought against in creation of this great nation.

If we want to be honest with ourselves, really truly honest, we would see that no candidate is for less government controls, taxation, or less spending. They may very well say they are, but do any of you out there honestly believe them?

As a conservative, I can say with complete 100% confidence say that I have no candidate to vote for. I will be casting a vote against any Democrat. That is all I will be doing in this election simply b/c there is no conservative on my side of the political spectrum. And that means that my vote will be nothing more then a vote against the Democrats who are so profoundly removed from anything our nation was set up to do, that I have come to the realization that even the Republicans are not so far removed from the same outcome. They both bicker about the same issues, which are all detrimental to this nation. It is almost like the entire pollitical spectrum starts on the left side and is moving more so by each election.

I wait for the day that a true conservative will step up and say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done. And that is less government intervention and controls, and more cutting of government programs. Our government was set up to limit government intervention, not for total domination of its people. And there is no candidate out there saying these things who has hte nuts to follow through with their rhetoric. In short I can say that nobody on the Presidential stage, is man enough to do what is necessary to bring this nation back from the brink of destruction that created it in the first place.

I do agree that very few candidates ever really get what this country is about on a philosophical level, but in any case the President is less important in that regard than Congress. For the Presidency we need a good leader who can inspire Americans to have confidence in themselves and their country.

Now in Congress, we do seem to have a few, probably a few dozen, Congressmen who know what it's all about. We need to elect more.

Okay, when I first read this...I had to think for a moment...and I mean no disrespect here...but I thought, "is this post a joke?"

I mean, you basically just described to a tee what Ron Paul is running on and what he is all about. How can you say there is absolutely no one running whom you can believe in, who is for smaller government, who wants to cut spending without looking into who all the candidates are?

Ron Paul is the only candidate on either side who is running on the exact issues you're talking about that are not being addressed.

However, I think I know what part of the problem is. I know some will just dismiss this as tinfoil hatted conspiracy theorism, but Ron Paul is given far less time to speak in the debates than the other candidates. Hell he's not even allowed to take part in the FOX N.H. debate, and at first ABC was going to exclude him from theirs until a hue and cry (and better Iowa numbers than expected) got him added at the last minute.

But whenever you watch the big media coverage, Paul is rarely mentioned. This is not an accident. I really think if you went to youtube...went to his site, you'd be pretty impressed with Dr. Paul's message. He's a strict Constitutionalist who wants to cut the federal government to it's originally intended size and mandate.

He wants to repeal the income tax, do away with the IRS, the Dept of Homeland Security, the Dept of Education. He also wants to do away with the federal reserve and put the dollar back on the gold standard.

He wants to end the feds spending money on the drug war, end the war in Iraq, bring all troops across the globe home, close all foreign bases to cut those billions in costs. He wants more power given to the states and less say out of Washington on how people live their lives. He also wants the U.S. to be friends and trading partners with other nations yes, but to ally with none.

He believes in free markets first and foremost, and complete personal liberty. Sounds like that's all pretty up your alley. He wants what the founding fathers intended...a small, efficient federal government that spends money wisely, avoids bloated bureaucracy and works as it should to preserve your personal liberty and to protect your borders, period.

Reading this kind of makes me sad, because the answer to all of that is right in front of you in the person of Ron Paul. Unfortunately how would you know were it not for word of mouth. The media is afraid of him. Seriously though...I understand your cynicism but you really should look into what Ron Paul is saying. He's a true conservative Republican and as he puts it, "the champion of the Constitution".

We would probably get higher quality people if the damn media didn't dig into everyone's shorts and put it on the evening news.

Nobody in their right mind would want to go through that crap.
