Iowa Caucus results

Results of the Democrat Iowa caucus have started coming in and can be viewed here:

Iowa Democratic Party Caucus Results

It's only a few minutes in atm, and Edwards has a small lead over Obama and Clinton. It's definetely going to be close...

GOP results haven't started yet, as their caucuses started a little later, but they should start soon i guess. They can be viewed here:

Huckabee Wins Iowa Caucus Big. Giuliani Polling Well. Romney Suffers Huge Setback

41% in

Republicans % of votes
Mike Huckabee - 31%
Mitt Romney - 23%
Fred Thompson - 13%
John McCain - 12%
Rudy Giuliani - 11%
Ron Paul - 10%
Duncan Hunter - 0%

Democrats - 77% of precincts reporting

Barack Obama 647 36%
John Edwards 551 31%
Hillary Clinton 547 30%
Bill Richardson 34 2%
Joe Biden 18 1%
Uncommitted 2 0%
Chris Dodd 1 0%
Mike Gravel 0 0%
Dennis Kucinich 0 0%

For not campaigning at all almost, Rudy Giuliani kicked ass. He might even move up to about 15%. This is definitely a victory for him. Romney lost. Huckabee won. This was a great night for Giuliani fans.

Obama, Huck,win

I think the Democratic race is pretty much settled now. Clinton can still win, but I think she's going to take some more beatings before she can even attempt a comeback. Obama will almost certainly win NH and SC, with Clinton carrying NV.

If Edwards does the right thing and drops out tonight, the race is over. Obama will run away with it.

On the Republican side, absolutely nothing has been settled except for Romney being mortally wounded. Huckabee will still lose badly in NH. McCain, Thompson, Giuliani, and Paul all met or exceeded expecations and are neither hurt nor helped by Iowa. The GOP race is still wide open.

I thought you didn't like Huckabee, or is that Romney?

Giuliani's numbers just dropped to 4%. Apparently his support was concentrated in a small area.

Deep down, I was still pulling for Biden to have a strong showing. Didn't happen.

So my hope now is for an Obama/Biden ticket. Obama can handle domestic issues while Biden gets to work trying to settle this crazy world down.

A domestic genius and a foreign policy expert... can't be no better ticket.

he didn't even campaign there.....

this is the death of romney's...he spent over $25 million and can't even win a state...he's fucked

giuliani has more money than any other candidate in the race on the republican side, has been loading up his support and organization in these upcoming states and is going to blow away in florida, while romney wasted it here in iowa. he had a speech the other day where over 2,000 people came to see him
