Clinton demands international Bhutto probe, as if she rules the world

According to the article, Hillary Clinton Friday called for an independent, international probe into Benazir Bhutto's murder, as turmoil wracking US anti-terror ally Pakistan reshaped debate in the White House race.

The Democratic front-runner weighed into the crisis just six days before first 2008 party nominating contests, as candidates brandished their national security credentials following the ex-Pakistani premier's death. "I'm calling for a full, independent, international investigation," Clinton said in an interview with CNN. "I think it's critically important that we get answers and really those are due first and foremost to the people of Pakistan," Clinton said. The former first lady suggested the probe could be along the lines of the international investigation that followed the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri in 2005. "I don't think the Pakistani government at this time under President (Pervez) Musharraf has any credibility at all. They have disbanded an independent judiciary, they oppressed a free press." She gave the interview from her hotel in Des Moines, Iowa, in a presidential-style setting with the backdrop of an American flag, bolstering the claims of experience and leadership on which she is pinning her campaign. Even as she spoke, a new row broke out with her Democratic rival Barack Obama whose top strategist Thursday highlighted Clinton's 2002 Senate vote for the Iraq war, which he said had boosted Al-Qaeda, suspected in Bhutto's murder. Former NATO commander Wesley Clark, a Clinton backer, thrust home a counter-attack, saying it was a time for "leadership not politics."
I am appalled that Wesley Clark would endorse such a ditsy leader. Besides that, Hillary needs to get over her I . . . I . . . I . . . Me . . . Me . . . Me . . . mentality. Has it never occurred to her that maybe the Pakistanis don’t care what “I think." However, I wouldn't mind seeing Hillary take control of the investigation. Put her to work over in Karachi on foreign assignment on something constructive. I mean she is a members of the foreign relations committee. Might do her some good. Instead of being the Queen of America she can go and be the Queen of Pakistan. I wouldn't mind.
