Ron Paul sets new fundraising record
This message was posted on Ron Paul's campaign website - Ron Paul 2008 — Hope for America - at 10:46 PM EST:
Quote:
We are close to making history. In November, we mentioned that the all-time, single-day primary fundraising record is John Kerry’s $5.7 million in 2004. At this hour, Ron Paul stands at $5.4 million.
Won't you help Ron Paul make history?
If you are considering donating, please help us by making your donation before midnight EST tonight. And if you have donated already, won't you help us by contributing again? https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate
By the way, we are closing in on 25,000 first-time donors today. Thats unbelievable! Help us hit this mark too by telling your friends about this historic day!

At 12:00 AM EST I took a screen shot of his main page which has a running weekly total (or since it was Sunday, daily total) - this is what it said:
Apparently Ron Paul has not only defeated his own GOP fundraising record of $4.2 million set just over a month ago, but it appears that he has set the all-time primary fundraising record for either party. And certain people have been saying he's bad for the GOP.

Just curious... What happens to the money he has raised after the primaries are over and Ron Paul is not the candidate?
I suspect these "money dumps" are being funded by Soros, in the hope that this nut job will be the GOP nominee, thus reducing Republican turnout to the 5 libertarian-contrarians who support him.

I expect him to spend it all in the early primary states within the next few weeks. I think I see another blimp on the horizon!

Not if, as I suspect, that over half of that money is from Hillary supporters. A 3rd-party run from a guy on her right is the queen's best and only chance. She knows this, and it would be well worth it for her to seed Paul's coffers and stoke his ego to make that run. This is the most serious issue of the year, IMHO, and I can guaran-damn-tee ya that she and her minions are behind a large part of Ron Paul's fundraising miracles. And it torques me that he is USING the Republican primary apparatus to accomplish HER ends. I mean damn and double-damn. She is going to make him an offer he can't refuse, and there will be two sides to that offer. I cannot BELIEVE that he gets to use the Republican party to foster that outcome.

With all of the conspiracy theories you're spouting off some might say you should be a Ron Paul supporter....but as he would say, "Freedom is popular."

Well gee since people like the message of freedom then they're going to donate to those who share the same platform.

You have got to be kidding!
No rich Lefty is going to waste money like that. It's all going to the top three... Clinton, Obama & Edwards.
The Dems are out to win this thing this time. They're not playing around with that kind of money.
There are people who are just die hard Libertarians. They see the Federal Government as the whole problem with everything. They think they'd be sitting pretty if the only Federal Government tax was to support a military big enough just to defend us from an invasion.
I don't completely get it. But I have little doubt it's one of those concepts like Marxism. Might look good on paper... but in reality it's a cluster %#*$.

Holy crap!
The CBS evening news actually mentioned his raising of that much money tonight. I am so shocked at that they actually noticed him

I really would like for someone claiming Ron Paul's donations come from Clinton supporters to supply a shred of evidence.
The money is coming from Ron Paul supporters. The organization comes from grass roots support. It's not from the left, its from those who want to see government out of our lives. Ron Paul's campaign has shown that libertarian ideals have strong supporters willing to donate.
