There are a few things that Rudy will get thrown at him but maybe not the affair. That thing about him being married to his cousin has a definate "Ick" factor.

That seems more bubba-ish than anything Clinton ever did.

Apparently not.

FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt were second cousins, so were Prince Albert and Queen Victoria and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani was briefly married to a second cousin.
As a voter planning to vote for a Democrat, I would like to declare that my first preference for a Republican opponent is:

(1) Romney
(2) Giuliani

In order of easiest to beat.

It isn't widely known, is it. When the public hears about that marriage, it will hurt him.

Romney is the gaffe king. The more he talks, the more he screws up. Not sure how others feel about Ana Marie Cox but here is an interesting link about that:

I think that if any of the following participate in an election for President:

Obama
Hillary
Giuliani
Romney

There is going to be a shitload of Swiftboating involved. It's going to be tons of personal assaults in between debates and then a fair amount of character attacks in the debates as well. I caught the tail end of this program on MSNBC about slimeball politics, it turned out that the US has always been this way. People said that Jefferson was in favor of anarchy and sexual perversion. There was also a similar slimeball battle fought between Andrew Jackson and one of his rivals. Oh well.

They put this website up during the documentary: Stop Her Now: Hillary Show

The Republicans must have an ammo cache on Hillary that could fill up the Library of Congress. I'm sure they can come up with one for Obama/"Osama" too....I mean oops, Obama.

Stop her Now is losing their touch, their earlier episodes (1-3) were much more funny.

I think political campaigns have always been rough. It is only recently that everyone has been able to watch 24/7.

I was watching Hardball the other night and Chris was complaining that there aren't anymore heros in Washington, that when he was a kid and went there, he was so awestruck by the hallowed halls of congress as he passed by their doors.

It was mentioned that the reason they don't seem beyond reproach now is because of the cameras in the Senate and House. That makes sense to me.

The country's too divided now to have a hero and we have no greater conflict to unite us like WWII or the Cold War. I guess it's possible that Reagan was considered a "great leader" but that was considerably before my time, so I don't know what non-Republicans thought of him.

Even McCain, who many consider a war hero, is not seen as a hero by his own party, due to his policies. The requirements for a hero are pretty high these days.

* Signing off for now.

Double standards -- Louis J Sheehan

or quintuple standards. The republicans won't have a problem overlooking and/or rationalizing anything. Louis J Sheehan

Sorry, I missed this quote earlier. Rudy was married to her for 14 years. If that is considered briefly, I don't really know what to say.
