Clinton Presidential Library

http://www.gop.com/News/Read.aspx?ID=7399

"In 2004, Hillary claimed that all of the records at the Clinton Library would be opened. She said on CNN's Larry King Live, "That's one of the things the library really stands for. It physically stands for openness with all the glass and the light. But he wants it to be a place where people come and really study. And everything's going to be available."

Nearly three years after the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library and the ensuing Freedom of Information Act Requests, less than half of one percent of the library's documents are open for review.

ABC News reported on November 6, 2007 that another Arkansas library containing documents related to Clinton won't be available until after the 2008 election."

I checked out a few other aticles and they pretty much said the same thing. Democratic newspapers don't have anything regarding this topic, so I can assume that they have no defense for this and just want it to go away.

I am no expert when it comes to the library system and how long it takes to start up, but after so many years, to only be so open seems like a cover up to me. I also don't like that many articles won't come out until after the election.

I agree with your point and I think it'll be a real hoot to see what is in Bush's library (gee whiz, it'll be just a short ride for me to see it!).
What I wasn't aware of is that there were actually Democratic Party newspapers. Are you refering to party newsletters or something else?

I'm reading "The Survivor" right now. It's about the Clinton White House years and it's not a kiss the Clintons' asses book, but it's not too extreme the other way either. Reading it is confirming to me that I am sure that I don't really want them back in power. However, if the alternative is Rudy, I'll take Hillary.

Since you're now delivering a one liner, I'll assume that earlier you meant something other than what you typed.

You typed "newspapers" therefore I misunderstood your meaning. You now think I'm driving a different point that I'm not. I really thought that there was something new to be learned.
By the way, about the picture book comment, do I need to challenge you on that? Nah, too late, I'll be heading to bed soon. Besides, you're usually a decent fellow.

I did look at newspapers but my main focus was on internet news focusing on the democratic party, but I checked the Democrat and Chronicle and it didn't have anything either regarding the matter. I'm sorry that I wasn't completely clear.

Usually they take a far left view, and put a lot of emphasis on republicans being wrong simply because they are republican and democrats are right just because they are democrat, but the far right papers do that too, so it's to be expected.

But I was wondering if there is any reason behind the slow library release (other than what the republicans are saying) that might seem to justify it. I just can't find anyone defending it.
