Thompson Cancels Date With the Press

Source: Thompson Cancels Date With the Press - The Caucus - Politics - New York Times Blog

Quote:
Fred Thompson, appearing at the Americans for Prosperity event today, was supposed to give a press availability, which would have been his first big question-and-answer session with the national press corps in Washington. The availability never happened, and the campaign’s description for why has a decidedly, anti-Washington press corps bent – which probably won’t hurt him too much with key constituencies. (That is, outside the one with all those barrels of ink, television viewers and Web readers.)

Todd Harris, a campaign spokesman, said Mr. Thompson’s speaking engagement ran later than expected and “it came to a decision between doing a media availability or spending time with the Virginia delegation,’’ adding, “We opted to spend time with the delegates as opposed to the Washington press corps.”

For good measure, Mr. Harris added, “It’s not all about the D.C. press corps.” Though, he added, Mr. Thompson – whose performance on the stump has come under withering criticism that continued through his appearance at the Americans for Prosperity event – has held plenty of press availabilities out on the road.
I am getting the impression that Fred Thompson is afraid of the press.

I was watching The News Hour last night and they were interviewing two moderate political commentators. Both agreed that Giuiliani gave exciting speeches while Thompson's speeches were incredibly boring. Another report I heard on NPR was saying how Thompson basically speaks in generalities and offers no specific proposals. Thompson really does seem to be high on charm, but weak on substance.

He will be debating the other pubs for the first time in 3-4 days, IIRC.

Giuliani has been the most active of any GOPer in the campaign. Charismatic? I don't find Fred Thompson charismatic at all. I have read he is extremely boring during his speeches and pep rally's.

Rudy Giuliani is the best speaker out of anyone in the whole group. B Hussein Obama is quite a good speaker as well, however, sometimes he goes off on these tangents that get too intellect for the common person.

I see. I appreciate that you use Barrack's middle name, just to smear him. There was no need for that, so likewise I will also just share a good ole picture of Rudy dressing up in drag, since there's also no need for that fact either.

* Actual picture of Giuliani in drag

On Saturday Night Live

I relish a candidate not afraid to poke fun at himself.

Hillary should make out w/ a chick. She is a lesbian.

Talk about immature posts for a moderator.

By the way, dude, there are full length videos on the web of Rudy parading himself in drag. Keep up your partisan attacks and you'll be seeing a lot more of these videos and images.

He's not poking fun. He is a closet homosexual like Senator Craig.

What show or website was this on, I really have to know, I really do.

And on a side note, the constant use of Obama's middle name doesn't mean jack shit to me.

Rudy Giuliani with Donald Trump

By the way, mic, you should really re-upload your avatar since the server upgrade last Monday dropped all avatars setup before that date. You can see it, but that's only because it is in your computer's cache. We only see a link that says "micfranklin's avatar."
