Fred Thompson surprised me.

I heard an interview he had on the radio and he actually sounded human and not a partisan, empty suit, typical politician. He did not dip and dodge questions or flip flop but rather stuck to his positions. He did not use partisan rhetoric and conducted himself well considering that he was interviewed by a conservative talk radio host who was trying to trip him up. Although he knew that the audience was his target voting base he stuck to his positions regardless. He then explained how campain funding is more like bribery than free speech. That takes balls to say since many of the front runners are recieving millions from labor unions and corporations. Does this mean I will vote for him, not really but it is refreshing to see some humility in a canidate even if some of his positions are disagreable to me.

Remember, Fred Thompson happens to be a Republican as well.
