Was anyone advocating not use it as last resort? I wasn't.

The nuclear bomb has helped us maintain our level of influence throughout the world. We both contain the bombs, but also the technology, which many developing countries covet.

I didn't say you did. I was just saying my thoughts because i've heard quite a few republicans say "oh just nuke them" to every problem. And they defiantely were't saying it as a last resort.

As a last offensive or defensive option. Hopefully we'll never have to use nuclear weapons.

Agreed. But the LAST thing we need these days is to make the rest of the world think we WON'T use them under any circumstances.
Better to let them think we will if provoked or attacked, even though we might not have any intention to do so.

Obama is proving himself to be a fool on a daily basis lately.

yeah... that's what he said... (destroying things can never be justified... we can only give reasons like using it as a defensive measure... as a last resort but a reason is not a justification...)
