Ron Paul : True Leadership?
How many Democrats either voted for the war, or agreed to fund the war, even while saying it is unjust? Ron Paul has the courage to stand up for his convictions.

Why? I read your response about him on the Star Wars thread about how he wants to get rid of government. I don't think he wants to get rid of it, he only wants to take it back to what it was supposed to be. I'd rather the government shrink than have it grow bigger, which I could see happening if anyone of the other candidates, especially the democrats, were to win.

Unfortunately, we have too much stupid, or at least greedy, in this country to survive under such a small government at this point. Maybe that view is pessimistic, but it certainly seems to be the case.

Well I would agree with that, but lets say we did get rid of the government... to the extent that it should be. Wouldn't those people figure out at some point that uncle sam isn't going to wipe their ass for them and eventually decide to work to get by?
You're not a pessimist, you just see the mouth breathers around you. I'm no Ben Franklin, but God damn people are stupid.

If crazy means pulling our troops out of where they shouldn't have been and reducing our government back to where it should be, then yeah he belongs in an asylum

I have no problem with reducing welfare and whatnot. I do, however, believe we need to expand public industry and regulate private industry. I think universal health care is also a good idea. I don't agree with the patriot act or cameras on street corners or anything to that extent.

At this point, every candidate who is to be taken seriously wants to get us out of Iraq. Again, we can't reduce government to the extent he believes we should. There were far less people in our nation at the time of it's founding, reducing government to where it was then is unrealistic.
