Question: Why do Republicans Fear Al Gore as a Presidential Candidate?
Question: Why do Republicans Fear Al Gore as a Presidential Candidate?
That's just my opinion, of course. But I see many Republicans, citizens and politicians alike that try to discredit him.

If Gore entered the race I'd think that would be good for the Republicans because he might draw votes from the front runners.

I'd like to see him run again. I think he'd be much easier to beat than Hilary or Obama.

I disagree. I think he'd be harder to beat. Hillary is easy because half the country hates her (as revealed by countless polls). Obama is black (strike one for many Americans) and he's a liberal (strike two). Gore was a Senator from a Southern state, and I believe he grew up in Tennessee. That's attractive to Southerners and the center. He also has a lot of respect from liberals for everything he's said and done for the past 8 years. I'd much rather see him run and would definetely vote for him over Obama and Hillary in the primaries. I'd have to see how pro-tax cut (for the rich) are McCain and Giulianni before deciding after that.

I don't think that republicans fear him. I just think they don't like him. I think that they don't fear him because they don't see him as a serious threat.

That's not the point. He has BETTER appeal to the center than his other two Democratic rivals. I didn't say he had the BEST appeal to the center than any possible rival in the general election.
