New Hampshire Debate
Caught the last hour or so...about the same as the last debate, but a little more of a calm atmosphere.
Same old stuff from Rudy McRomney. Speaking of Rudy and McCain - they seemed sort of like a little "Old Boys" group on stage. God, it was such bullshit watching them. I shrug my shoulders and bury my head in my hands each time I see the polls putting them at the forefront. It's ridiculous, IMO.
The guy from Wisconsin, can't remember his name -- his speech on healthcare and our need for more prevention rather than SICK-care was bad-ass. That being said, overall - he still does not impress me.
I think Tom Tancredo shot himself in the foot with his comment on closing off most Legal Immigration. I really think it will hurt him with moderates. Giuliani, for all of his faults, came off with a pretty good response to him and whipped up some thunder. I don't mind Tancredo for the most part, but I had never heard that out of him and that is something I'm not really for.
Ron Paul made the most sense out of anyone -- YET AGAIN. Maybe I'm nuts but I guess I'm the only one hearing the sanity in each of his words. I don't even have any quotes of his to give you. If people aren't seeing the truth in his words, then there is really not much more to be done at this point. Ron Pauls only weakness is he is not hitting back hard enough. He is making the Kerry mistake of hoping his points will make their fight on their own.
Overall, it's about what I expected. Ron Paul makes sense, the others throw peanuts, and Rudy and the gang exude cockiness.
Other thoughts?

I didn't learn much I already didn't know about the candidates. I was impressed by Ron Paul. He gave the most direct answers and they made sense to me.
Ron Paul won the debate. IMO.

Hands down. He won the last debate too.
Good slogans to throw around to your friends -- "Who is Ron Paul? And why is he trying to save my country?"
or
VOTE RON PAUL...WIN A FREE REPUBLIC!
Hehehe.

It's a funny thing with Ron Paul... the big name political pundits have from the beginning written him off but he always shows good numbers during and right after the debates.

I agree that Paul, once again had more to say than any of the others. And surprise Rudy got to play his only card, 9i/11, at least twice. Mitt was presidential looking and well trained. Paul Won!

In all likelihood, Ron Paul will win all the debates, technically. That's because he is by far the most well read, well studied, and likely the most intelligent candidate on any of the stages. In every answer he gives, he makes it obvious he has considered the issue carefully, and will stick to his guns.
His big problem is that he would take away all the entitlements that people have gained over the years. And he is very plain about it. He doesn't just say it...he means it.
I'm not so sure America is ready for an honest politician in the White House.

Huckabee know doubt has done himself the most good with these debates. He's really got a good grasp of the issues and he's not a fake like Romney.
However, his record as governor of Arkansas will not please conservatives once they dig deeper, which they will if he starts doing well in the polls. The guy is like Bush when it comes to spending.
Paul's big moment is going to be New Hampshire. He's got a dedicated base there that could push him up to 10% or more of the vote. Then there's Texas a couple of weeks later, where he's also fairly popular. He probably can't win, in part because he alienates the 80% of the party that is not libertarian, but he could win enough delegates to have some influence on the platform and a chance to speak at the convention.
Then there's the chance that he could run for President and steal votes from the Republican nominee. I wonder how much it would be worth to the GOP to keep him from running on the LP ticket?

I think Ron Paul has a good chance of winning; the internet is spreading his message and people like what they hear. You know he's not lying to you like everyone else because he's been a congressman 10 times! There's a saying I've been hearing which is that if there's a bill that passes by 400-1, you can count on him being the 1.
That's what America needs; not someone who follows the crowd but a man who is unafraid to stand up and say "No". They call him "Dr. No" on congress. As a president he could veto constantly until congress stopped spending our nation to death. Can you imagine the fear this must strike into the hearts of the spendocrats? A man in power who wouldn't be afraid to tell them all to get stuffed and just veto until the cows came home? I can just imagine his Presidency...
Pork Barrel Project after Pork Barrel Project veto'd... congressional spending brought into line... he would abolish income tax, so we are no longer taxed for succeeding...
and pace... PAX AMERICANA. A President who doesn't solve problems by bombing first and asking questions later...
