Fred Thompson on the issues
Here's a very concise video interview with Fred Thompson: YouTube - Fred on the issues
Also, here's a bit of his voting record: Fred Thompson on the Issues
It's interesting. I'm a bit torn. I like his policy on Iraq. He seems like a cool guy. Where was this guy in 2000? I could have lived with this guy and defended him, instead of Bush.

I think if he had been elected President in 2000 there wouldn't be as many messed up things to defend.

He was busy making money in the movies and on TV, that was probably more important at the time.

And of course, what a candidate says and what he DOES if elected may well be two very different things.
(I just realized this is my 1000th post. It seems like just yesterday I was writing my 985th post. Ah, memories.)

He looks good. I think that he may turn out to have been a sleeper that will become a big candidate for the nomination.

What I also heard on some Fox News report is that he could be the successor to George Allen, and he would essentially inherit Allen's campaign, which had already been assembled but had no driver in the seat.

Since Repubs are trying to resurrect the dead, Reagan, he will have a good chance since some seem to think he is a Reaganite.

I'm still trying to figure out what I think of him.
I was surprised he announced so soon. I was expecting him to wait until August.

If he waited until August he certainly would have more time as a fresh face in the race and won't be subject to the barf factor that the other candidates are going to start projecting because people will be so sick of seeing and hearing them.
On the other hand, because there are already so many people in the race, the money will dry up quickly and waiting until August would have put him at a huge financial disadvantage.
Bit of a "Catch 22"
