Every branch of the federal government needs it's powers reduced. The President hasn't usurped Congressional powers. He has usurped state powers and individual rights. So has Congress.

The president can do only what the Congress ALLOWS him to do for the most part.

Think about that the next time you discuss Bush's record.

That sounds like Kerry's "He played on our fears, he betrayed this country."
A pathetic excuse, especially when you hear about the bills that they will sign and not read.

I know, right? The federal government obviously knows what is best for us.

A few examples of this "stuff" would be nice.
To the best of my knowledge a president can't add amendments to ANY bill. He can only modify a law with respect to his own conduct with those infamous "signing statements" but he can't "sneak stuff in" to a bill without Congress knowing about it.

One place you can find a lot of examples of this thing is in Jack Huberman's book "Bushit". This guy isn't just some far fetched person he has a lot of sources all of which are very good and can no way be fake or provide fake info.

I was asking YOU, actually. I have neither the time nor the inclination to go out and get a book every time I ask someone to clarify his point.

As I stated, the president cannot amend a bill. He might influence some members of Congress to do it, but he cannot do that himself. All he can legally do is sign or veto a bill which has been passed by the Congress.

You stated he "sneaks stuff in" and I was simply asking you to name a couple of specific things.

List things from his book, if you'd like. I just want to see how Bush blatantly circumvents the Constitution as regards your statement.
