The least unfortunate were those who submitted
Without a murmur to the power which
Was impossible to resist. "The Decline and Fall of The
Roman Empire".
Just like a toddler who is pure "Id", the corporate tyrant demands…"mine, mine". It's mine you can't have anything. I want your labor, I want your money, your savings, anything you hold dear, your property, but most importantly the ability to have your rights and interests represented , I want your government. This parasite is bloating itself on our blood. The regulated are writing the regulations and congress is providing OJT for future lobbyists. The K street project boasts 34,000 lobbyists for 535 congressmen that’s 64 lobbyists per congressman. Do you think that some of our congressmen are, by their choices regarding fiscal policy, might be abetting the tyrants? I'm sure this is what our founding fathers had in mind when they envisioned a democratic egalitarian society!
We call foul but do nothing. We walk to work or ride a bicycle not because it's environmentally correct but because we can't afford the price of gasoline. We read by candlelight not because we want to emulate our founders but because we can't afford electricity. We eat lunch-meat not because we have a fondness for lunch-meat but because we can't afford hamburger. This is a bleak picture of our future. Is it realistic? I don't think so, but probably not for the same reason as you. My reason, the parasite cannot kill off the host. It's a symbiotic relationship. We will be kept in a weakened state so that we can't rebel but the parasite can continue to feed. The Japanese penal system uses this same tactic to control its prisoners, keep the focus on survival, then escape or riot will not be an issue.
I'm sure you, like I, have heard this matra "the economy is growing and is robust". The DOW has broken 13,000, yippee! Why then has poverty grown to 12% or 37 million
people. Pay day loan businesses are proliferating and it cost me over $50.00 to put 16 gals into my '95 van. Robust, they say, for whom?
We wring our hands in desperate hopelessness awaiting another Truman, Kennedy or Reagan to save us from the barbarians. When in fact we are the embodiment of our own salvation. We are 120 million against 3 million. Why then can't we prevail? The simple answer as we all know, is corrupt money and its subsequent power. However, economics professor Ravi Batra in his book "The New Golden Age" offers us hope, follow the money and vote against it. Once the lawmakers discover that their election chances go down with the size of their campaign collection, they will shy away from the big contributors. At the federal level, we should split our vote between the major parties regarding the executive and legislature. That is to say, if our presidential vote is democrat, then our congressional vote should be republican. We should put party alliances aside and vote for what is right for America. But this takes courage and unfortunately many of us are not up to the task. How about you?
There are in 2008, 31 republican and 12 democrat senatorial seats at stake, do you have the courage to send the message '"I'm voting for America, your money be damned"!
I sincerely hope you are not one of the lemmings waiting to hurl yourself of the cliff and into the abyss of indifference. But instead you have the courage to take the path of revolution. Assault the walls of corporate tyranny causing them to tremble and crumble before the power of the people….PLUTOCRACY or DEMOCRACY… The choice is yours.
For a complete guide for a voting strategy I highly recommend professor Batra's book.
