Of course it's not important. Do you think Bush won Oberlin, Ohio when he ran for President in 2000 and 2004? Do you think he won any of those other towns in Vermont and Washington that have passed these?

Ohio has never been a "red" state. It's purple if anything. Sometimes it goes Republican and sometimes it goes Democrat. It just depends on what direction the wind is blowing that day. Republicans did have a slight advantage but Taft fucked all that up.

That's good I'll be sure to tell everybody here in Columbus that the Republicans think our "influence is waining"...
Why would you tell them that? I never said that Republicans thought your influence was waining. I am telling you for a fact that it is. You had 21 electoral votes in the 2000 election. You had 20 in 2004. After this Census you will likely have 19 votes in the 2012 election. On the contrary, Georgia had 13 votes in 2000, 15 in 2004, and is expected to have 17 after the next census. Do you see the pattern here? After the 2020 census, Georgia will be more important than Ohio. It's the same with North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada. This is reality. You can accept it or ignore it. That choice is yours.

I disagree, on two counts. One, he seems to indeed listen to his advisers. The problem is most of his advisers should be taken out and hung for GIVING that advice.
Two, I think the man is such a dolt that if he DIDN'T listen to his advisers he wouldn't have a single idea to his name.

It would make for some quiet press conferences, though.

I think you're missing the point here my friend. It has nothing to do with the particular town of Oberlin, Ohio and has everything to do with organized opposition and its early spread across the state of Ohio. I live here. I see it. We're what... a year and a half out and just as in the national polls Ohio towns are showing huge support for getting out of Iraq and continuing the change started in the last election. Anything anti-Bush is positive for the Democrats... and the tidal wave is starting this early!!!... it's absolutely great news for the Dems!

Well then the wind is building up strong & early in favor of all things Democrat... and by the way you did get things right with Taft screwing up big time. I personally know Judge Froehlich... the judge that sentenced him... LoL! His wife is on one of our local school boards.

All electoral votes are important and especially in swing states. I ignor nothing and I believe you will see our influence as still EXTREMELY important! A major change is on the horison and it can't come to soon. We can't take much more "strategery"...

REALITY???
HUH, The only reality I keep hearing is the Republican administration, folowed by words like trouble, mistake, scandal, and the one used most the American people aren't going to like this.
As far as Bush wining in 2004 I'll give you that, but Bush actually wining in 2000 WELL???
The Republican party keeps writing off people as insignificant that disagree with them, that will lead to their demise.
Does one of the greatest political machine in America actually beleive that the counsel of Oberlin, Ohio is the only one that has a beef against this president and this administration?
Does the criticisum stop right there, or maybe, just maybe there might be or one or two more Americans that are feed up!!
