Thumbs down I fear a Clinton Presidency almost as much as I feared Bush

Is this country really worth anything more than a sun-dried turd if someone can get elected President while constantly lying?

Here's Hillary's latest promise: Ben Smith's Blog - Politico.com
Quote:
Clinton: OPEC 'can no longer be a cartel'

Clinton's attacks on oil prices as artificially inflated, Enron-style, keep escalating, and today she appeared to threaten to break up the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.
....
Does anyone with an IQ above 70 actually think Hillary can break up OPEC? She might as well try to convert the US to Hinduism while she's at it.

Then there was Hillary's move before the Ohio-Texas primary where she BLASTED Obama over the Canada-Obama adviser memo which she interpreted as Obama saying that he didn't mean what he was saying about NAFTA. OK, that's fine. One could argue that. That's somewhat reasonable, BUT CLINTON HELPED TO GET NAFTA PASSED!

Wow, in my lifetime of actively follow politics, my country has chosen Bush and now flirts with choosing a complete liar this year and if not this year, then perhaps in 2012. Wow, really makes you lose respect for American intelligence.

From the link in the OP:
Quote:
"We’re going to go right at OPEC," she said. "They can no longer be a cartel, a monopoly that get together once every couple of months in some conference room in some plush place in the world, they decide how much oil they’re going to produce and what price they’re going to put it at," she told a crowd at a firehouse in Merrillville, IN.

"That’s not a market. That’s a monopoly," she said, saying she'd use anti-trust law and the World Trade Organization to take on OPEC.

Hillary has a funny idea of what a monopoly is. OPEC only produces 40 percent of the world's oil.

Quote:
Non-OPEC countries (countries not members of OPEC - the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) produced 60 percent of the world's oil (total liquids) in 2004, down from 62 percent in 2003. Since 1970, non-OPEC production as a share of world total oil production reached a high of 71 percent in 1985 and a low of 48 percent in 1973, with a 60 percent average.

The simple fact is that as other countries become more industrialized, in particular China and India, they are going to become more competitive with the US for the available oil supply. That is going to drive up the price, and there isn't a thing any US Presidential candidate will be able to do about it short of nuking the rest of the planet.

OK Hil, realistically, how in the HELL are you going to break up OPEC

Is that better? I don't care about the BS that was spun, I'd like to hear realistically because very soon, the oil that the USA buys could be sold elsewhere if the USA won't pay top dollar. If Hil wants to dictate then either be the best and biggest customer with nobody to fill in the gap if you left or create your own supply and then you can control it.

The same way that she fought NAFTA, brought peace to Northern Ireland, has 35 years of experience and survived sniper fire in Bosnia, in other words just make the shit up and hope you forget she said it in the first place.

lol! Word, mate!

Anyway, I figure no matter who we pick, we're screwed. At this point McCain looks like the best simply because we know he's a partriot and he doesn't lie his head off.

But of course, I'm voting Libertarian. WAYNE ALLYN ROOT!

I'd take an intelligent non-patriot over a hot-headed moronic patriot any day. But if it is between McCain and Clinton, I probably won't vote.
