"There's also nothing "elitist" about what Obama says. Elitist means favoring the elite, which Obama can hardly be in favor of doing as he proposes more taxes on the rich, while turning down donations from lobbyists."
"Elitist" is a term that gets slapped on liberals by conservatives. It doesn't make sense and never has, but it works, Hillary Clinton knows it works, and she has no problem exploiting conservative propaganda for her own purpose.
One of the problems i have with the Clintons is that they do not seek to defy the conservative idealogical framework. They seek to work within it. I feel that it can and should be challenged, and it won't be if people like them remain the leaders of the Democratic Party.
"Hillary is trying to act like she's a blue collar worker. The fact that she invited a camera crew down a bar to show everyone how she drank liquor shows how blue collar she really is."
I don't agree with your criticism here. I think all politicians do this. Didn't Obama go bowling and bring a film crew to show how blue collar he really is? Obviously, judging from his bowling skills, it's not something that he'd normally do.

The difference between Obama's pitiful bowling attempt and Hillary going out drinking is that Obama's not trying to argue that he's blue collar and Hillary is not. It's one thing to try to get in touch with your constituents, it's another thing to be a f***ing hypocrite, saying that your opponent is an elitist while you actually had more economic advantages in life than your opponent. Both Obama and Hillary were lawyers, but at least Hillary had two parents growing up. She's got no right to call Obama an elitist.

Americans are angry and bitter torward the government. How many BS slogans have we heard over the years, empty soundbites. Thousand points of light,no child left behind and mine flavor, compassionate conservatism. BS was given to minorities, religionist right, gun holders and soccer moms all to get their vote. Then they are ignored or belittle by politicans after they get into office. Hookers get used better. If you go beneath Obama words, you can understand the truth in what he is saiding. Less than half of the voting population vote, which show alot of us have given up on the process. McCain and Clinton instead of addressing the fact that people are pissed with our government, choose to paint Obama as a elitist. Laughable considering they both earn more money than him over the years and hang-out with some the most powerful and wealthest people in this country. They are playing the game instead of tring to change it for the benefit of the american people. They just want to play us for their own personel gains, the right to be the most powerful person in the land with all it's perks.

I think what he says in the video is probably true. He's basically saying that if blue collar workers don't feel that Democrats can improve their economic situations, they'll vote Republican based on gun rights and faith issues. What's wrong with that?
I have to say, however, that Obama and his campaign sure makes a lot of mistakes- Wright, Nafta, the patriotism issue, and now this. Twenty years ago a candidate like Obama would have been crucified. I think the success of Republicans have kind of made him a teflon candidate. They've succeeded in portraying every liberal in recent memory in a negative light. But now the country's looking for someone more liberal, and the same old conservative accusations don't stick.

I think if people would actually do their own research (like searching for the reaction of folks in Pennsylvania) as opposed to reacting to what Senators McCain and Clinton are saying, then they would realize that Senator Obama is in know way an elitist nor did he mean to be demeaning.
He stated he could have said it better. Perhaps he could have said that they were feeling "disenfranchised frustrated".
Nevertheless, he stood be his use of the word "bitter" and many people who he was talking about have admitted to being bitter.
All one would have do is find out for oneself instead of just going by what is seen on t.v.

Obama returned fire on Hillary: The Associated Press: Obama Turns Table on Clinton
Hillary's response?
Quote:
|
"For months, Barack Obama and his campaign have relentlessly attacked Hillary Clinton's character and integrity by using Republican talking points from the 1990s," said spokesman Phil Singer. "The shame is his. Senator Clinton does know better — she knows better than to condescend and talk down to voters like Senator Obama did."
|
How do you like that? Oh yeah, Obama is the one using Republican talking points by alleging "elitism". More lies and hypocrisy from Clinton. What else is new?

W.E.B., I am with you in not being able to describe the amount of hate I feel towards Hillary Clinton.

Hi EP, how ya been? Yeah, I'm watching Clinton and Obama talk on this religion "compassion forum" CNN thing. Clinton just turned the whole damn thing into a total farce, attacking Obama and saying that she's only doing it because the Republicans do that a lot and so we need to be prepared for Republican attacks by making them on the likely nominee.
She's been lying now for a good 40 minutes. I just hit the mute button and am waiting for Obama to come on.
