Cool WHAT DO THEY WANT FROM US?

Phil Donahue was on msnbc tonight, awesome interview-talking about the war in iraq-listening to him i was making notes about certain facts he was bringing up-then of course i had to listen to the rest of the evening's programs-keith olberman, dan abrams-cnn--- and from it all i have jotted down some thoughts that i would like to share-----First off, WHAT DO OTHER COUNTRIES WANT FROM US? i just can't imagine that any other country would want to take on the enormity of issues we face today. And please don't respond by saying POWER--
How can mccain be giving a speech and be preempted by a breaking news report about more violence breaking out as he is saying that the surge is working-and be able to show his lying face tomorrow-and convince the american people he deserves to be the president?
And the report on msnbc today that the FEAR campaign (like when hillary used the 3am ad)works---why in the world would someone want to scare us into believing anything-HOW ABOUT JUST TELLING THE TRUTH--and please don't respond by saying that is the way it has always been!
And why do people in washington use abuse of the system to divert democracy? Any reasonable explanation accepted, but along with the reasoning should come a viable solution!
Don Siegleman(ex gov of Ala-out of a year of jail) he " WATERGATE has nothing on this" his talking of how deep the corruption is in all areas of the government in washington

I just finished reading "THE FINAL DAYS" about the nixon Watergate coverup--I lived those years-wow over 30 years ago this happened and what i find most ironic is(and the basic reason i revisited this book)to find out first---how nothing has changed that much except the amount of money changing hands and how really deep the corruption in washington was and continues to be--the length some people are willing to go to for that (was once)almighty dollar--a couple people that i read about in this book are still around today being billed as top senior analyists for their expert opinion, like pat buchannon or dave gergen-well their opinions then were wrong so we are supposed to follow their opinions today as gospel--i don't think so--just a thought people that we do not have to repeat history.
OH, and lets not forget Carl Rove in above discussions.

I lived thru that time to and what amazed me most is how many people who where against the liberal causes then ( civil rights, vietnam war ) have gone on to fame and fortune. Ford, Reagan to name the big ones. You can trace a direct line from the old guards of that time to the neo-com of today. They used the fear of change ( they said King was moving to fast and wanted to much or the Russia will bury us) to the fear of the muslim world. The tool is the same. America is heading to a dark place. Our leaders and it's corp.handlers has striped america of it's industrial bases, destory our educational system. Kept us as american people divided and confused with talking points. WHAT DO THEY WANT FROM US? They want us dumb down, to shut up and to know our role as peons. Peons should be seen working, not talking. The sixties were a disorganize, crazy but peacful revolt against the status quo. There were the major killing of our leaders ( King, the Kennedy brothers.) and a hell of alot minor death likes Karen Silkwood and those kids at Kent State. Those deaths ( atleast the minor ones) told us don't fu-k with the status quo. Democracy is the illusion that cover up the fact we are a capitalism system first. I grew up hearing what's good for businese is good for America. That was believeable when we had good paiding factory jobs. Those at the bottom are to serve or to be abused for the comfort of those at the top. The only solution is when we realize and take to heart those first few lines in the constitution that start out as " We the people...

I don't know or care what other countries expect from us. If I am being naive about it please educate me, seriously. I more fearfully of what our leaders expect from the american people in blood and money and who will benefit the most from it.
