Message from Europe

Hello All,

I am posting a message from Ireland. I would like to ask the American people to also consider when voting that your government affects not only the US people but the entire world.

Most people I know cannot believe how popular Barack Obama is. He seems like a very nice guy, and I believe in years to come he would make a very good president, but not now. He is not experienced enough and he has no sufficient policies in place. Look at his website and you will see this. Don't vote based on someone being a good public speaker.

Remember, that even though Clinton may seem a bit hard nosed, she is a great leader. She united protestant and catholic women in Northern Ireland for the first time and has great policies that she wants to put in place such as on foreign policy and most importantly for Americans - health. I have been to America and was shocked at the poor health system you have.

Of course, everyone is entitled to vote as they wish, but before you do please educate yourselves on the candidates. You have made mistakes before and this has affected people the world over - try not to make the same mistake twice.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Is this a joke? Clinton stopped the fighting in Northern Ireland just like she was under sniper fire in Bosnia.

Yeah I heard Clinton stopped the fighting in Kashmir AND found the cure for cancer. Hillary Clinton helped me lose 15 pounds in 5 weeks! Hop aboard the total lie Clinton express!

Factcheck.com on Hillary and Northern Ireland:

FactCheck.org: Hillary's Adventures Abroad
Quote:
Clinton has taken an interest in the Northern Ireland peace process, visiting the area seven times between 1995 and 2004 – making five of those trips as first lady. Clinton has said that she "helped bring peace to Northern Ireland." Of course, "helped" is a fairly weak claim, one that could be made by nearly anyone who contributed in a way that didn't actively hinder the process. Clinton was not directly involved in the peace negotiations that eventually led to the Good Friday Agreement. Her work focused on encouraging Irish women to take a more active role in the male-dominated peace talks. There is universal agreement that Clinton "helped." The dispute is about how much she helped.

Figures close to the negotiations are split in their assessments. Clinton's campaign has been busy sharing some responses with the press. For example, former Sen. George Mitchell – the lead U.S. negotiator – told the Chicago Tribune that Clinton’s visits were "very helpful" and that her work with women was a "significant factor" in contributing to the success of the process. And in a written statement, John Hume, who shared a Nobel Peace Prize with David Trimble for their work on the Good Friday Agreement, said that Clinton provided "decisive support" for the process. Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams agreed, telling the Irish Times that "Senator Clinton played an important role in the peace process" and praising her as "extremely well informed on the issues."

But not everyone agrees. Trimble, for instance, remembers things differently, saying that Clinton’s role was mainly that of "cheerleader" and not one of "principal player." One of Hume’s aides – perhaps inadvertently showing why the peace process really did need to have more women involved – opined that Clinton was active "in a classic woman politicky sort of way," although he said that Clinton was "certainly investing some time." And an Irish historian who has written extensively about the peace process told the Tribune that Clinton’s work was "nice" but also "ancillary to the main thing."

Key players agree that Clinton was an active behind-the-scenes supporter of the peace process and that she was an important player in getting women involved in the negotiations. Getting parties to the table is a crucial part of any peace process. But we note that many could claim foreign policy credentials for bringing principal figures together, including U2's Bono – who convinced Hume and Trimble to appear together for the first time during the referendum campaign and whose photo with the two Irish politicians has been called "one of the enduring images of the peace process."
Hillary was a "cheerleader" at the Northern Ireland peace process, secrecy. Your main argument is a lie.

I see you only highlighted the negative quote there - what about the positive ones. If you read the article carefully and my argument - about women in Northern Ireland, you will see that it is actually verified.

I posted on this forum to ask people in America to try and open their minds. Please don't base your vote on someones personality. There are reasons why us Europeans have certain views of American people and the decisions they make!

I am from Europe, however I am not sure if you support a majority view from Europe.

In my impression I would say, that Obama has also in Europe a fair share of people who think he would be a good president. I would say at least, that its not much different in Europe than among US democrats regarding the shared support of Hillary / Obama.

I am for myself undecided. After all I dont need to decide anyway. Both canditates have strengths and weaknesses. I just hope they dont throw as much mud on each other until, both have degraded each others reputation so much that Cain does not have to worry because of the democrats anymore.

Sorry, but I think you'r comment is not quite accurate in remarking that Hillary Clinton brought peace to Ireland. There were a great many people from all areas who worked to achieve that peace. Lets keep the Cliunton contribution to peace, in perspective.

Wow, there's an intelligent comment. If I read the article which I posted and showed you "carefully." I showed YOU the article, of course I've read it carefully. Thanks for the brilliant advice. The article said that Clinton was a "cheerleader" at the peace process. The people who did say that Clinton played a major role probably did so as a favor to the Clintons.

You say that you want Americans to open their minds, but you completely ignored all the lies that I just showed you. You pretend to speak on behalf of all Europeans, which is obviously a very arrogant thing to do. You are just one individual, and most of the Europeans I spoke to prefer Obama over Clinton. In general, based off of news reports, Europeans seem to prefer Obama over Clinton. I think that everything that you have said here is disingenuous lies, which is appropriate, considering that you back Clinton.

It looks like Clinton is going to break her promise on releasing her tax returns.

What Clinton once said about tax returns - War Room - Salon.com
Quote:
Barack Obama's campaign has been pressing Hillary Clinton hard recently on the issue of her tax returns and why she has yet to release them. Currently, her campaign says she'll release them around April 15, before the Pennsylvania primary, a change to its previous position that the returns would not be made public until she was the nominee.
Dumb US public won't be needing to see our 2007 tax returns to see who we owe favors too.

To use the words of the poster secrecy, let's "try not to make the same mistake twice" of being given bad information to go into Iraq by electing ANOTHER LIAR as President.

MORE LIES. WE NEED MORE LIES.
