I feel too strongly that with Mccain we risk further action in the middle east. Right now we NEED to get Iran and Syria to work with us, and Mccain is not going to do that. He is more likely to attack Iran.

Obama can negotiate with Iran without making the US look weak because he already has declared a policy of withdrawal. We can't look any weaker after that.

Just accept that Obama is the new Haile Selassie and he will in time conquer the lion of the tribe of judah.

I think that there will be a period of celebration by people who think this means some type of change.

But America will still stand by Isreal, it will still be a economic powerhouse, it will still be the same nation.

The only thing that will change will be the color of the predident's skin.

If that is enough to improve America's image than that says a lot about the people who have a problem with America.

I think it says much more about how people understand the US' history of racism against non-white Americans.

Good point, what kind of idiot would have a problem with America for oppressing minorities.

Clinton would have gotten it, dating back to the days when Clinton was "the first black President."

If a white liberal with soaring rhetoric got the Democratic nomination without any major scandals, he would probably have won in November. Since Obama is getting his left knee cap broken (probably by angry Hillary supporters) and the right one broken by his softening support among independents and Republicans due to Reverend Wright, his chances are more precarious.
You're probably right. But I think his ethnicity is a valid and important asset (see post #16 in this thread) that he would not have had if he was overtly white.

You've got to be kidding. The only difference between Obama and Bush is the color of their skin?!? What about Obama's lack of ignorant cowboy arrogance?

Chances are, America will still be an economic powerhouse, but there's also a good chance it won't be so singular in that arena.

Keep in mind that America is viewed abroad as a racist nation. Is this an incorrect view?
