Thumbs down I got a conspiracy theory for ya: Hillary in 2012

I was watching Hardball and Matthews was saying that the reason Hillary is not dropping out thus far, and the reason she continues to embarrass and attack Obama, is because if Obama loses in 2008, it may give Hillary another shot to go against McCain.

How do you like that? The snake will not perish even after you cut off one of its heads.

I hope the Democrats can push for Governor Kathleen Sibelius or Janet Napolitano in 2012. Hillary still has to be stopped.

I can understand not liking her, but Jesus Christ... the attacks some people throw against her are just outlandish. The reason I suspect she is still running is because she still has a chance to win, and not just a slim chance. To claim it as a deliberate sabotage of her own party, simply to bolster her chances of winning in 2012, seems awfully absurd to me.

There's nothing absurd about acknowledging Clinton's lack of integrity and ambition that she win at any cost. I find it partisan to argue otherwise.

Story behind the story: The Clinton myth - Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen - Politico.com

Story behind the story: The Clinton myth
By JIM VANDEHEI & MIKE ALLEN | 3/21/08 1:32 PM EST

One big fact has largely been lost in the recent coverage of the Democratic presidential race: Hillary Rodham Clinton has virtually no chance of winning.

Her own campaign acknowledges there is no way that she will finish ahead in pledged delegates. That means the only way she wins is if Democratic superdelegates are ready to risk a backlash of historic proportions from the party’s most reliable constituency.

Unless Clinton is able to at least win the primary popular vote — which also would take nothing less than an electoral miracle — and use that achievement to pressure superdelegates, she has only one scenario for victory. An African-American opponent and his backers would be told that, even though he won the contest with voters, the prize is going to someone else.

People who think that scenario is even remotely likely are living on another planet.

As it happens, many people inside Clinton’s campaign live right here on Earth. One important Clinton adviser estimated to Politico privately that she has no more than a 10 percent chance of winning her race against Barack Obama, an appraisal that was echoed by other operatives.

In other words: The notion of the Democratic contest being a dramatic cliffhanger is a game of make-believe.

Yep, I do not like her either. but we can not assume some reasons to ensure the opinion of ourselves.

no chance to win but definitely deserve to have a try.

The whole presidential campaign is appearently viewed as a sort of promotion tour or investment towards the future by some candidates it might seem. Mike Huckabee for example was more than out of race like months before McCain managed to grasp the needed delegates, and yet he kept on. He came up with some IMO poor explanations for why to do it ("it ain't over till it's over" or "the people in the states that hav enot yet voted need a choice") - in truth I think it was only a huge publicity "stunt" in order to get himself known better. He's making big bucks by holding speeches at conferences and such with his now renowned name and has become a pretty big figure in the GOP. His chance of becoming president were exactly 0% after super tuesday, so keeping this thing going for what it's intended to be - becoming president - was pointless.

The Republicans had a vital advantage though: Huckabee was an absolutely fair candidate that did not (to my knowledge) throw any low punches at McCain, so in the end it was a pretty peaceful coexistance between the 2. Hillary however is tearing Obama appart - be it bassed on truth or not, sadly it's working. The question is, for who?

We have most definitely not seen the last of Hillary Clinton, even if she looses which she probably will as you correctly state.

You know, this just about does it for me.
I've been one of those democrats who'd been saying If Obama couldn't get the nomination, then I'd just as soon vote for Clinton; anything, dear God, anything to get the republicans out of the white house.

Yeah, not anymore.
I've been leaning way the hell away from Clinton anyway, mostly cause she just won't stop with the dirty tactics.
This stuff is just insane, I am starting to see what people mean when they say she'll stoop to anything to win.

Now she is claiming she possibly "misspoke" and offered up a complicated explanation of what she was trying to say or how it got mixed up in her head.

As my Sweetie so succintly put it:
"How the hell do you "forget" there was no one firing guns at you?"

Btw, WEB, love you're new avatar and quote...that stuff still has me giggling.

Thanks.

Yeah, I was thinking to myself the other day (as I was reading how the Clinton campaign responded to criticism that they could not win the delegate math by saying that the Obama campaign "can't count") about if I would actually vote for some of the more radical conservatives instead of Hillary (i.e. Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee). I think I actually would. However, I then realized that if McCain wins this time, it will be him or his VP who are running for election in 2012, and I would gladly make some efforts to campaign on McCain's behalf if he is running against Hillary. I will do my best to stop Hillary at all costs.
