He came up with some IMO poor explanations for why to do it ("it ain't over till it's over" or "the people in the states that hav enot yet voted need a choice") - in truth I think it was only a huge publicity "stunt" in order to get himself known better. He's making big bucks by holding speeches at conferences and such with his now renowned name and has become a pretty big figure in the GOP. His chance of becoming president were exactly 0% after super tuesday, so keeping this thing going for what it's intended to be - becoming president - was pointless.

The Republicans had a vital advantage though: Huckabee was an absolutely fair candidate that did not (to my knowledge) throw any low punches at McCain, so in the end it was a pretty peaceful coexistance between the 2.
Hillary however is tearing Obama appart - be it bassed on truth or not, sadly it's working. The question is, for who?

We have most definitely not seen the last of Hillary Clinton, even if she looses which she probably will as you correctly state.
The bold is an astute observation, especially for a non-American.

Hillary is killing Obama, absolutely killing him in a general election. Her entire campaign is that Obama sucks. The effects of that on the general election will be obvious. Not only is she telling the middle parts of her constituency (white males) that Obama sucks, but the entire fight is also making her hardcore supporters (old working class white women) bitter towards Obama. The whole deal is just a kick in the balls to Obama's Presidential run.

How do you like that? The snake will not perish even after you cut off one of its heads.

I hope the Democrats can push for Governor Kathleen Sibelius or Janet Napolitano in 2012. Hillary still has to be stopped.

Other good Democrats to watch in 2012: Evan Bayh, Mark Warner, Ed Rendell, Tom Vilsack. Any of these Dems could easily win swing states like Ohio, Missouri...something that Obama or Hillary cannot.

I think that Hillary's momentum has shown us that if Obama fails, the next nominee oughta be a woman. Ed Rendell can go to hell. As for the other three, I was all about those centrists (as well as Joe Biden) for 2008. Fine mess this election turned out to be.

Actually it is not absurd-- it could very well be what hillary is doing-setting herself up to win the presidency in 2012--Senator Reid (from the great state of nevada) gave us a hint today of what's coming down the pike--he sees what she is doing-- he is going to stop her before she ruins the democratic party--you talk about the hillary bashing like she doesn't deserve it-i bet you think she cares about you
