Which party abides by constitution better?
I'm only interested in the recent past, say the last 70 years, and only want to compare Repubs and Dems..
Republicans, Democrats?

Neither. They both have atrocious records when it comes to abiding by the constitution.

I don't think either of them have read the Constitution.

It all depends on how the wording and perceived intent of the Founders is interpreted.

My answer would be none of the above, both parties have a track record of disregarding the Constitution whenever possible.
Any chance you would let me vote for Libertarian as option c?

Maybe it's the side of me that likes to look to the greater good of men, but I prefer to think of it as disregarding the Constitution as a matter of convenience. Present administration excepted. It seems to be their policy.

They're still supposed to abide by the constitution?

constitution? We need no stinking constitution! Sorry a old movie line I bastardize. The Bush adminstration has drop all pretense about following the foundation our fore-fathers created. Just listen to vice-Cheney talk about american's feeling torward the war. A elected official representing us, who doesn't care what we want or think? This has been a steady progression from ignoring the constitution, when they are able to get away with it to now, tossing it between their legs like toilet paper when it is a inconvenience.

This thread brings to mind a somewhat scary story I heard recently.
A friend of a friend was invited to a party thrown by the ACLU - even though he is a conservative he went for the free drinks and food.
Jane Fonda's daughter was there and gave a short speech, in which she said we needed to scrap the constitution. And most of the people there applauded and cheered when she said it!
I generally lean to the left, but I found this to be chilling. Don't these ACLU idiots realize that the ACLU couldn't exist if not for the Constitution? Jeez.
