Thing is, when Huckabee attacks McCain, he does so on his policies, which has aboslutely no effect on the general election, since McCain is still a long way more to the right than any of the democratic candidates, so in essence the Republican base listening to Huckabees attacks and actually caring about them doesn't really have much of a choice than to go McCain in the end.
Hillary, however, does not attack Obama on the issues but resorts to dirtthrowing, which will have a lasting effect during the entire general election as well. Every tiny bit of nomatter how wrongful information Hillary digs up about Obama, it will come back to haunt him. Hillary is effectively undermining her own party, while Huckabee is not. This most certainly gives the Republicans a very significant edge.
