Even if he wins, it could be a Pyrrhic victory.
On Real Clear Politics, her chances of winning have increased from ~20% last week to almost 50% currently. Why would she want to drop out? Today is the day she takes the Democrat nomination.

Thing is, when Huckabee attacks McCain, he does so on his policies, which has aboslutely no effect on the general election, since McCain is still a long way more to the right than any of the democratic candidates, so in essence the Republican base listening to Huckabees attacks and actually caring about them doesn't really have much of a choice than to go McCain in the end.

Hillary, however, does not attack Obama on the issues but resorts to dirtthrowing, which will have a lasting effect during the entire general election as well. Every tiny bit of nomatter how wrongful information Hillary digs up about Obama, it will come back to haunt him. Hillary is effectively undermining her own party, while Huckabee is not. This most certainly gives the Republicans a very significant edge.

In New York City, there is an obvious advantage to the Democrats, just as there is an obvious advantage to Democrats this year.

In one particular year, we had Mike Bloomberg (a Republican) come up for election against two Democratic opponents. One had support from the Latinos and another had support from the blacks. Neither one would backdown and they both ran simultaneously for mayor. The result was that Bloomberg won.

I'm starting to see some parallels between that situation and the Presidential race. I'm going to back to my fallback position of, be thankful you got McCain, he is a good guy.
