Tad for Dems? Superdelegates

Hey, how likely do you think the following scenario is:

Obama, building on his momentum, has a slight lead in regular delegates going into the convention. But Clinton's political experience and connections net her more superdelegates, and she winds up with the nomination.

How this looks to the pundits and others: a small cabal of Democratic insiders have successfully disenfranchised millions of African-American voters (and other voters as well, of course).

I'm worried about this, and I suggest superdelegates take VERY seriously the candidate with the most popular voting delegates, whether this is Clinton or Obama. I know the rules are the rules and the rules are complicated, but rank-and-file party members and independents would like to believe that "one person, one vote" is a bedrock Democratic principle.

Thoughts? Am I swatting at windmills here?

This idea of super delegates is pretty new to me, but from what I've read so far, if for no other reason, this is reason enough for me to never want to be a democrat.

@ dua: I think that what you mention is a very real possibility. Another interesting point is how late this would happen. The Democratic convention is in September, I believe. If it really goes on that long only for it to be decided (essentially be Clinton's buddy network among other politicians) and then the general election is 2 months away, that's going to really be difficult for the Democrats to overcome in the general election.

I think that most of the Democrats I've talked to have no problem with either Hillary or Obama, but that super enthusiastic part of Obama's camp, I don't know how many people that is (at least tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands) I don't know what they do.

I can't imagine many black people turning out to vote for Hillary, nor a lot of the younger Obama voters (under 30) coming out to vote for Hillary. If Obama loses like that, personally I might just become a de facto Republican.
