2008 Presidential Candidates: Undecided between voting Democrat or Republican, but I won't vote for Hillary Clinton.
Party: Independent, but have always and will always vote for either a Democratic or Republican candidate. I don't like the idea of being affiliated with a massive political organization.
Abortion: Popular sovereignty - let the state's vote on whether abortion should be kept legal or not. Ban partial birth abortions except in cases wherein the mother's life is at risk, or in cases of rape and incest.
Affirmative Action: While affirmative action is necessary to promote diversity, it does not need to be as prevalent as it is now.
Alternative Fuels: Reduce dependence on foreign oil and research alternate energy sources.
Capital Punishment: Keep the death penalty, but use it scarcely.
Censorship: No censorship except in cases of extreme profanity or nudity.
Cuba: Keep the embargo so long as there is Communism in Cuba.
Current Congress: Congress needs to work toward bipartisan solutions to be effective; A Democratic Congress will not be effective with a Republican President.
Education: Increase federal funding for public schools.
Electoral College: The electoral college ensures that people from every region of the country are represented in the Presidential election process.
Flag Burning: The 1st amendment gives all citizens the right to express themselves in whatever way they choose.
Foreign Policy: Diplomacy before military, but keep military options open.
Gay Rights: Popular sovereignty. Let states decided whether Gay marriage should be legal or not. Gay marriage should only be recognized in states that legalize it.
Global Warming: Take significant steps to protect our environment and stop pollution.
Gun Control: Yeah, guns were made legal in the constitution, but the constitution was written so that it could be changed. Ban all assault rifles, no guns for those convicted of crimes.
Healthcare: Universal health care whether public or private. ALL CITIZENS MUST HAVE HEALTH CARE.
Illegal Immigration: Illegal immigrants are taking American jobs. Secure the border ASAP and increase border patrols on both borders.
Marijuana Legalization: Not a chance.
Media Bias: So what? The FCC doesn't need to regulate the media. MSNBC is Liberal, CNN is slightly Liberal, and Fox News is Very Conservative. The media will always be biased so long as man can have an opinion.
School Prayer: No prayer in public schools.
Separation of Church and State: Complete and total separation. Politicians must not use religion to dictate their policies.
Social Security: Let workers invest their retirement savings privately.
Stem Cell Research: Complete government funding for stem cell research.
War in Iraq: Keep all troops in Iraq until as early as 2016 in order to ensure maximum stability. In today's world, middle eastern allies are invaluable. It is imperative that the Iraqi government not collapse.
Wiretapping: "Not without a warrant."

Party: Parties are just labels that change with time.
I have mostly liberal values, and the stigma of the current administration as well as that of the last four Republican presidents (Bush, Reagan, Ford, Nixon) makes me hold severe contempt for the GOP, however, I feel that a candidate should be taken into account by their issues, not their party.
"Partisan gridlock [is] destroying our relationships and reputation around the world.
I believe we can turn around our country's current, wrong-headed course, if we start basing our actions on ideas, shared values, and a commitment to solve problems without regard for party.
"There's nothing wrong with belonging to a political party - about two-thirds of us do. But joining a party doesn't mean you should stop thinking for yourself! Neither party has God on its side, a monopoly on good ideas, or a lock on any single fiscal, social, or moral philosophy. And anyone who says their party does, and the other party doesn't, is either a fraud or just not a good student of history."
- Mike Bloomberg
Abortion: Pro-Choice. If the option of abortion is taken away, then you risk creating a lot more broken families and a lot of young single mothers who simply can't create a comfortable life for her and her children.
There would be many black-market abortions, more abandoned children, and an over-flooding of adoption agencies. There simply are not enough people willing to adopt all the unwanted children of the world, and many children's futures would be in limbo. You create a culture of poverty, crime, and an authoritarian stifling of young women's potential.
I do not want abortions. And personally I would never encourage an abortion. But by all means, we should crack down on teenagers having sex, and use exhaustive education through schools and parents about the consequences of sex, and provide accessability to contraceptives for everyone. We should make things like day care and college for young mothers more affordable so that an unexpected child will not cripple her. We should also do whatever we can to make abortions less necessary. Late term abortions should not be allowed.
Affirmative Action: Under Construction
Alternative Fuels: Money needs to go into research for alternative fuels regardless of what the Bush Administration refuses to believe about global warming. It may be "inconvenient" but, as the IPCC has proved time and time again, it is a necessary investment.
Capital Punishment: Very against. The government should not be allowed to choose who lives or not. Capital Punishment allows men to play God, and I do not agree with that. Punish these criminals by sending them to Jail for life.
Censorship: No. Censoring should be done at a personal level, not a national level. It is too fine of a line for a government to walk
Cuba: The embargo doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. Too much of a socialist policy for me.
Current Administration (Bush/Cheney): Somewhat disappointed. I don't agree with what he has done with foreign/domestic policies in the middle east, war on terror, patriot act, and minor things such as stem cell research
Current Congress: Needs to start working WITH the president, not just the same pattern of proposition, veto, proposition, veto, without enough democrats to override a single thing. however a deadlock isn't as bad as a power hungry congress.
Education: Obviously needs a reform. I like the idea of a parent-hoice voucher. Competition has always pushed a better standard, so why not in a school setting? Solves most problems with the poor being stuck in a low-income school. it allows American's to fulfill the American Dream and parry poverty. It also allows a smaller class size, with better teacher wages. The only problem with vouchers is the possibility of helping religion schools. This could be a problem with separation of church and state.
Electoral College: Undecided.
Allows smaller states a say in things, but if they are smaller, they should obviously have a smaller say in the electoral college.
Keeps a 2-party system, which is a necessity.
Forces candidates to focus on swing states such as Iowa.
Electors should not have a choice to stray from popular vote, although that is the main reason we have them.
It obviously has many flaws, but it has many necessities. There has to be a better way to elect.
Flag Burning: Obviously disrespectful, however no laws should prevent it. Focus on bigger issues.
Foreign Policy: "Speak softly, and carry a big stick" should still be our policy.
We have a long list of military involvements that stand in contrast to our rhetoric of promoting peace and respect for the sovereignty of nations. First we should pull all of our troops home from bases around the world and close all military bases outside the US. Second there are many former and current dictatorships that receive or received US financial or military support, especially in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, despite claiming to support democracy and democratic principals. However this cannot be done overnight. We must stick with the problem we have got ourselves into and finish out in Iraq. There should be no timetable for this problem. This war cannot be ended by simply pulling troops out. if we leave it the way it is now and we run out, then we're going to face further difficulties in the future.
We should have free trade with ALL nations. Diplomatic solutions are always more effective than military ones.
Gay Rights: I am personally against it, however it is not the government's right to ban it.
Global Warming: Exists and is not going to fix itself. Federal assistance for the production of ethanol and/or biofuel as an alternative to oil is now a necessity. It's somewhat ironic that, because President Bush won't be joining the world leaders in the Bali Conference to represent the US in the most important UN climate conference, Al Gore has stepped up to the plate. It just goes to show how biased and manipulated George W. can be.
Globalization: Globalization can be great for countries in need, but in no way do we have the right to force a way of life onto others. It's not our place. IE: Bush administration - Iraq
Gun Control: Gun control is insulting; it violates our rights to private property. Go to the source if you want to stop crime, don't just clip it's branches.
Healthcare: It should be universal. Healthcare is a basic human right, and because employment no longer guarantees health insurance coverage, help should be given to those who are not able to come up with enough money to pay for it. Because over 45 million Americans are not covered, it actually costs more for these people to be treated when it's needed in an emergency, than it would have been to insure them. Those who are against socialized medicine, are only afraid change, and should therefor read the alchemist.
Illegal Immigration: obviously opposed to illigal immigration
strongly in favor of legal immigration
I feel that what has happened has happened. We should not deport illegals, just start fresh by making it easier to become a citizen, and harder to cross illegally. "We're not going to deport 12 million people, so let's stop this fiction." (Mike Bloomberg)
It should not be very easy to become a legal citizen if you crossed illegally, there should be some fines and waiting in line. DREAM Act was also a terrible idea.
Marijuana Legalization: It should obviously be used for medical purposes. There are hundreds of more dangerous and powerful drugs that are perfectly legal.
Media Bias: It's going to exist one way or another, it's their right.
Minimum Wage: Cost of living continues to rise, so shouldn't the minimum wage?
Outsourcing: Hmm, I don't know. I don't think I agree with it, especially when poverty is such a big problem in the US.
Right to Die: Once again, the government does not have the right to control this. You cannot force someone to live.
School Prayer: Very against if it is a public school. Separation of church & state. completely. America is a salad.
Separation of Church and State: Although I'm religious, I don't believe in having "God" on our coins and in our pledge of allegance. I would not want to see in Muhammed we trust on all of our coins. Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, or even atheists, should not be treated as if they are on the outside of a country's religion. There is no country religion, and never should be.
Social Security: I'm never going to see a penny from it. It should be privatized.
Stem Cell Research: PRO stem cell research. Medical science has advanced to this point because of risks taken. If we are going to throw away unused embryos from invitro fertilization, surely we can make use of them in stem cell research.
Supreme Court: We need a democrat in office 2008.
Taxes: I'm willing to pay a little bit more money to have better programs that protect our economy and give more opportunites to make the united states a stronger nation.
Maybe national sales tax is a good idea... I don't know.
Unions: Forming a union should be the choice of the employees. If they feel it necessary to be a part of one in order to have fair opportunities in the work place, then it should be their right. however the government should not back them
United Nations: The UN has many, many problems that need to be fixed. The UN has been anti-american, anti-israeli, anti-semetic, we pay a large portion of the funding, and it creates a scenario in which we have to allow dictators like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad into this country.
The US should help with it's reform when possible, but should not fall under it until it has gone under such changes, although we must regain our credibility and justice. Being an enemy to the UN is not something a country wants to do. We should help with it when it is convenient cooporative.
The UN haven't been important to solving a world crisis in a good 30-40 years. They were out of the picture in Northern Ireland, Cold War, Persian Gulf War, Israeli-Palestinian Issue. Relying on it too much would be a foolish mistake unless it reforms itself.
War in Iraq: The link between the terrorists in Iraq and the WMDs was inexistant. The US should not assume the responsibility of the world police. We have lost a lot of prestige because of the foolish ideals and reasonings of the Bush Administration.
You cannot force change on a society that is not ready for it. A democracy is the last thing on the minds of the Sunni and Shia Iraqis. Just because it works for us, does not mean we must force it into their lives. The Iraqis have been in this culture of civil war for thousands of years, and we cannot step in and judge them by our standards.
However, I know we cannot just get up and walk out now, because that would bring even more violence than before we stepped in. It will take many years for the United States to get out of this problem that the egotistic Bush administration got us into.
Welfare: It's necessary. I get really irritated when people say that the poor are taking advantage of the system... welfare allows people and families to survive without becoming homeless while in between jobs.
Wiretapping: Unconstitutional.
USA PATRIOT Act, however, is only in times of war. I don't agree with it, although it is sometimes required. It should be used with diligence, and should not be put in the hands of racist fools like Mitt Romney who wanted to wiretap mosques after 9-11-01
Guantanamo Bay: Goes against EVERYTHING a democracy, especially the United States of America, stands for. It takes away every basic human right of people that the government thinks is involved in terrorism without a just trial. It allows Americans to torture and de-humanize other people. Just read Guantanamo by David Rose about how evil and unjust this place is, and just how effective these torture "techniques" are, and just how perfect they decide who is guilty or innocent.
[I took this out of an outline I already had, hence the additions, and longer answers. I'm assuming I also spent quite a bit more time on this than everyone else. I encourage you to discuss/challenge my views. I'm fairly new to politics and would love to see another view introduced to me.]

2008 Presidential Candidates: I am supporting Obama for the DNC ticket. Not sure who I would arrive to with the Republicans right now.
Party: Registered Independent.
Abortion: 100% Against Partial-Birth Abortions. Otherwise I am pro-choice.
Affirmative Action: Against.
Alternative Fuels: Legislate the funding of this. We need to get a move on with this, seriously.
Capital Punishment: In agreement with the use of.
Censorship: Not a fan of censorship.
Cuba: Castro will be dead soon enough, as will our rationale for upholding this embargo.
Current Administration (Bush/Cheney): I don't like them, but they're not an "issue" as I see it.
Current Congress: Not getting much done, but look who is in the executive branch.
Education: Would be one of the things I would fund the most.
Electoral College: I agree with keeping this.
Flag Burning: Is protected by the constitution.
Foreign Policy: Not a big fan of the War on Terror, would not continue it in the fashion Bush has with military intervention.
Free Trade: I'm fairly supportive of Free Trade.
Gay Rights: I am in favor of allowing Gay marriage.
Global Warming: It is real and we should try to at least do something to combat it.
Globalization: I think "The World is Flat" laid out a good case for the rise of Globalization. I ultimately see it as a good thing.
Gun Control: I agree with Gun Control.
Healthcare: I am mixed on this issue and admit that this is one area I am still learning more about.
Illegal Immigration: Enforce laws on employers who hire illegals, increase the # of legals allowed each year. No wall.
Marijuana Legalization: I support the Decriminalization of Marijuana as a step to the possible state of Legalization. Taking a leap to legalizing it would be way drastic.
Media Bias: Again, it exists, but don't see how this is an issue.
School Prayer: Nobody should be forced to pray if they don't want to.
Separation of Church and State: It should exist firmly.
Social Security: I supported Bush's privatization plan.
Stem Cell Research: Another issue I am becoming more educated on, but as of yet can offer no solid stance.
The Constitution: There is a modification and amendment clause in it for a reason. The Founding Fathers were not stupid and realized that society would change and necessitate changes for its citizens.
United Nations: In the end, the UN is a very good thing. I am not for pulling out.
War in Iraq: Not a supporter of the war, never was, and agree with a withdrawl.
Welfare: Agreed with others WRT "workfare".
Wiretapping: Not without a warrant.

That's my stand!!!
2008 Presidential Candidates: Mitt Romney, John McCain or Barack Obama.
Party: Most likely Democratic as Republicans had enough of their share.
Abortion: There needs to be a law to control unlawful and socially derogatory activities as this. But again, there are concerns larger than this.
Affirmative Action: Imminent but free of biasness.
Alternative Fuels: Increase dependence on Biofuels and alternative resources through VC funding and government loans and state grants and easy tax burdens.
Capital Punishment: Uproot the CRIME and not the criminal. HEAL the criminal, its a disease that needs cure.
Censorship: More Important issues out there that need to be addressed. States role and play would do justice to this.
Cuba: Equal Opportunity for One and All. It sure should help them Grow and flourish and come out of illiteracy, low IQs and other social issues et cetra.
Current Administration: Is Rotten and Passe.....Let it go!
Current Congress: Lacks sense of regulation and responsibility. Good if its replaced.
Education: Prime concern and important to nations growth. Should be center's concern.
Electoral College: Good it is in place. No Goof ups please.....!
Federal Debt: Balancing the Government Act with National treasure and state Funds. Assign priorities to expenditures!
Flag Burning: Immoral, disrespect to nation and Illegal. Should Call for rigorous punishments. Burn politicians effigies if you are so upset about a political or economic situation.
Foreign Policy: Don't Overplay!
Free Trade: Promotes globalization, socio economic co-operation between nations, and healthy for economic stability and growth. PROMOTE IT!
Gay Rights: Least important issue....Let men decide what they wish to do with the relationships.
Global Warming: Need for awareness, Real Action and environmental friendly solutions along with less public outrage and hype.
Globalization: So Far so Good!
Gun Control: No comments but should not put security and nations safety at stake.
Healthcare: Eased norms for medical practitioners and an Open market would address the problem.
Illegal Immigration: Check it then and there before it poses a threat to nations domestic security.
Marijuana Legalization: Don't legalize it until prescribed by a doctor.
Media Bias: It's for common man to head up and against the goof ups coming from celebrities and politicians. MEDIA is not the sole culprit.
School Prayer: No comments required.
Separation of Church and State: LUCID and Transparent
Social Security: Privatization should never be considered. Government needs to approach it more sensitively.
Stem Cell Research:It's okay if funds can be arranged except from taxpayers. May be VCs......
The Constitution: NO COMMENTS
United Nations: Don't overindulge....
War in Iraq: End up this fiasco....We had enuf of it.
Welfare: Federal government needs to draw the line between Poor and Distressed by Birth and Fortune as against by Choice and ACTIONS.
Wiretapping: Should only be permitted once the grounds of offense have been proved partially, if not completely.

2008 Presidential Candidates: Ron Paul
Party: None
Abortion: Leave it to the states.
Affirmative Action: Shouldn't be needed. Go off qualifications, nothing else.
Alternative Fuels: Allow the free market to decide.
Capital Punishment: Support
Censorship: Abolish FCC. You don't like what's on, change it.
Cuba: Lift embargo now. China and Vietnam are communist and we trade with them.
Current Administration (Bush/Cheney): Worst in histroy, but the current problems are all the politicians fault.
Current Congress: Part of the problem. Get rid of them all.
Education: Abolish the Dept. of Education. Let schools teach how to live and survive. Not how to be indoctorinated.
Electoral College: It's a good system to ensure all states are treated fairly.
Federal Debt: We need to drastically lower spending and start paying off the debt NOW. We spend 25% of the Federal Budget paying the interest on this debt. Paying it off would allow us to be far better off. If we don't pay it off, we'll eventually go bankrupt and huge problems will arise.
Flag Burning: See First Amendment.
Foreign Policy: Non Interventionism. We're not the world police, nor does there need to be.
Free Trade: Best solution. No treaties that threaten our sovereignity though.
Gay Rights: Seperation of church and state. It's a non-issue. What Adam and Steve do is none of my business.
Global Warming: I think it's overly alarmist and completely unproven. I think we should be more environmentally friendly though.
Globalization: Completely against.
Gun Control: Abolish the assault weapons ban. It violates the second amendment.
Healthcare: Get rid of the FDA. The free market will decide what drugs are bad for you by not purchasing them.
Illegal Immigration: Stop it. Send the national guard to the borders. Fine any employer who hires illegals extremely harshly. Fine any land lord who rents to illegals. Deport any illegals caught committing a crime. Require a citizenship check to access any public accommodations to prevent illegals from using any of it.
Marijuana Legalization: Legalize it. And abolish the War on Drugs. Marijuana is the most useful plant on earth. Plastics can be made from it's oils as well as an alternative fuel. Paper and clothing can be made that is thousand times more durable and more eco-friendly. The buds are a safer pain killer than anything on the market. No one has ever OD on pot. Don't believe the propaganda. They do what is best for them, not us.
Media Bias: Private companies. See 1st amendment.
School Prayer: If the kids want to pray at recess, at lunch, or during breaks that's just fine. No prayer during class.
Separation of Church and State: Should be absolute.
Social Security: Needs to be eventually phased out or privatized.
Stem Cell Research: Let the free market fund it. Do not federally ban it, but don't fund it with tax payer's dollars.
The Constitution: We need to follow it more closely. We also need to pass an amendment to get rid of birthright citizenship unless a parent is one as well.
United Nations: We should lower our funding of the U.N. to a more fair level.
War in Iraq: Pull out as soon as possible to do safely.
Welfare: Aboliosh completely. Most on welfare are just taking advantage of the free help. These shouldn't be helped.
Wiretapping: Should only be done on a U.S. citizen with a warrant.
We as citizens have an obligation to keep our government in check. Failure to do so leads to tyranny. Revolt when it is necessary. And it is almost is there.

2008 Presidential Candidates: I believe more knowledge and media attention should be given to candidates that offer change that actually affect every American... Ron Paul - Tom Gravel
Party:I tend to vote with my gut... not by party affiliation
Abortion:believe the focus should be on counseling before conception in doubtful cases... if not possible... we should have programs to address the issues before jumping into a decision on life or death. There-in more jobs available for less unemployment
Capital Punishment: maybe old style chain gangs should come back... give career minded criminals incentive to go the other way... rather than cable television and pampering.
Alternative Fuels: yes... and pricing to encourage the purchase of other options
Current Administration: Move on... have had more than enough chances
Federal Debt: restructure of our tax structure to "pay as you go"... liquidate need for gov employees to terrorize citizens... and stop buying what we can not not afford.
Flag Burning: a crime that deserves exportation to a country that thinks it should be legitimate...otherwise... removal from public until decides that this country's values is worth admiration of the flag representing it.
Foreign Policy: we need to be involved and listen rather than dictate
Gay Rights: the right to remain silent
Global Warming: preparation
Gun Control: control it from criminals, not every American
Health care: phony political rhetoric that has no positive influence.
Illegal Immigration: borders should be open in both directions with the focus to be on Crimminals... which should be dealt with in their country.
Marijuana Legalization: I don't believe America should dictate without educating on pro/cons
Media Bias: media should be unbiased and open to every view but viewer could promote this by not giving credence to media channels that are biased.
School Prayer: prayer should not be governed
Separation of Church and State: again... we put to much time and issues in trying to govern what this nation is founded on. Religion is a view and belief that should not be condemned from any aspect.
Social Security: restructuring taxes could allow plenty of funds for soc sec, education and family values.
Stem Cell Research: don't fund it with tax payer's dollars.
The Constitution: amend or adhere to it
United Nations: should have to be unanimous to make decisions that affect other countries.... and unanimous in effort as well.
War in Iraq: we should help the sectors that want us... and leave the marauders to fend for themselves
Welfare: reform
Wiretapping: only for for national defense purpose.

2008 Presidential Candidates: McCain/Romney Up in the air still
Party: Middle/Lean Right/Tilt Left
Abortion: is murder, If a doctor goes to prison for assited suicide, a doctor should go to prison for performing abortion.
Capital Punishment: Needed, but in order to sentence to death there needs to be absolute proof of guilt.
Alternative Fuels: We need to drill for oil in all the places these evironmentalist idiots keep us from drilling, build new refineries, and develop alternate fuels
Current Administration: Done their jobs, History will remember Bush much better than most in todays world
Federal Debt: Needs to be balanced...NOT with new or higher taxes
Flag Burning: 1st amendment right...however ridiculously disrespectful
Foreign Policy: Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer
Gay Rights: Let them have the same rights as us straight married folks
Global Warming: HOAX
Gun Control: If everyone had a gun, there would be much less crime
Health care: Privatize it...too much government involved already
Illegal Immigration: Control the boarders, start shipping out the criminals, and put everyone thats here in the back of the line no matter how long they have been here
Marijuana Legalization: God gave us all the seed bearing plants and Herbs to use...NON SMOKER
Media Bias: All of them lean to far Left...Except Fox News...they are to Right
School Prayer: Let me Pray if I want to Pray
Separation of Church and State: Needs to be seperate
Stem Cell Research: Destruction of Embryos is murder, however if we can get the same results from adult stem cells, Research away
The Constitution: The authors of our constitution would burn ours and start over...but until then, we need to live by it
United Nations: Just a Beginning to a one world government...Will destroy the US
War in Iraq: Justified, if its for Oil or not
Welfare: Abolish...I'm sick of paying for others to sit around that do not contribute to society
Wiretapping: Nothing to worry about if you don't do anything wrong

2008 Presidential Candidate: Barack Obama, the best candidate who can win even though I don’t like him.
Party: Democrat
Abortion: Currently should be legal in the first stages of a pregnancy, illegal afterwards. I don’t have a very specific plan. It can be under states rights anyway.
Capital Punishment: Should be allowed to be performed to scare criminals but should be used incredibly rarely so innocent people aren’t punished too often with no chance of righting the wrong.
Alternative Fuels: There should be large amounts of funding used for research purposes to find alternative fuels. Unless the situation gets even incredibly a subsidy shouldn’t be used. I don’t think that will be needed.
Current Administration: Incredibly poor. In the future they will be looked upon as a bad administration especially since neo cons are getting heat for some of the bush policies.
Electoral College: should be replaced with a system that gives the popular votes in each state a small percent increase depending how small it is. That way the city won't control politics by itself and each state won't have an everything or nothing benefit in the presidential ellection.
Federal Debt: NEEDS TO BE PAID OFF! It could be eliminated in some years if the bush tax cuts are ended, increase taxes for upper middle class, the military’s budget is reduced, unemployment benefits are cut, and the money used for the Iraq War is devoted to paying off the debt after the war ends. The only program that should receive increased funding before the debt isn’t substantially reduced would be for education, protecting the boarder, and research for alternative fuels.
Taxes: Reduce taxes for corporations but increase taxes on high income earners. Wealth that people make should be taxed instead of the business. Keep the taxes on the poor and most middle classes low. I was thinking about the fair tax plan and I would support it if the reimbursement was higher and it came with a high luxury tax so the lower classes wouldn’t be hit as hard.
Flag Burning: 1st amendment
Foreign Policy: Should work to improve relations with other countries because even if the short term effects of taking advantage of weaker nations are great, in the long run they can be detrimental. Example Iran
Gay Rights: Gay couples should have exactly the same rights as heterosexual couples because since when could the government interfere in people’s private lives like that? If not than it could be decided by each state.
Global Warming: It seems factual right now and steps should be taken to invent other forms of clean energy. Besides that we can’t destroy our economy to try and solve global warming
Gun Control: Support gun control
Health care: Currently we can’t afford universal healthcare for everyone but if every child got it I would still oppose but I would be more indifferent. When the debt is paid off if people want universal healthcare I would be fine with it.
Illegal Immigration: Needs to be stopped. Build an expensive fense.
Marijuana Legalization: Sure legalize it, but have a large tax. I have never heard a good argument why marijuana should remain illegal. It will bring in more revenue while reducing crime and not filling up the prison system.
Media Bias: Media is all biased mostly to the left but someone to the right as well. It sucks and their funds should be disclosed or something like that but if too much was done that the gov would be controlling the media.
School Prayer: No required school prayer but if someone wants to pray in school or wear a religious symbol let them
Separation of Church and State: Needs to be enforced.
Stem Cell Research: Seems obsolete but since all or most of the embryos that are needed for research can be gained from discarded ones the research could continue.
The Constitution: It should be revised to allow the federal government to do anything it wants that doesn’t infringe on states rights with no new amendment.
United Nations: Good system for global diplomacy. It should be reformed but I have no idea how.
War in Iraq: We should have a timetable to put pressure on the Iraqi government to distribute oil revenues and train defensive forces. Despite that we should stay a few years longer.
Welfare: Education should be free and it should be improved by increasing teacher wages. Unemployment benefits should be cut because many people just live off of that. Children should be the only real recipients of welfare in the form of free food or cash, but I am opposed to most forms of welfare that I have seen.
Wiretapping: illegal without a warrant.

The Constitution: obeying it for once would be refreshing and helpful

Wiretapping: warrant only, by real judges in a real court open to the public for review afterwards
Economy:
get rid of the parasite that is the FED
re-institute the glass-steagall act among others, if these financial criminals can't behave then take their toys away and prosecute them
get rid of most of the income tax period
balance the budget and never ever do deficit spending ever again, pay as you go with realistic projections--publish the real ugly financial data not hide it
