Russian government simply can't swallow many neighbouring countries don't want to have anything with Russia anymore, and are seeking protection of NATO. I find it amusing when Russians criticize USA, when their own government is much worse.
It's a very interesting we're in 2008 now. 17 years passed after USSR had collapsed. And war-orientied mentality died with it.

But suprisingly there are still some persons in Europe and USA, who haven't ever been to Russia, don't know real moods of Russian minds. They just use obsolete words of cold war times reading and viewing propoganda of local mass media spreading Russophobe ideas.
If you really consider yourself to be a Christian, which means forgiveness we'd better live in 2008, not in 1968. As well as we, Russians think of Germans NOT in terms of 1940's but take them the way they are know. Without hatred.
And then tell me some facts proving Russia is trying to swallow neighbouring countries. And where did you get information that those countries are seeking
protection of NATO? Do you know some facts of such referendums in those countries?
I'll bet you haven't been in those countries recently and hardly know most people there are against joining NATO. There are so many connections to Russians
in Georgia and Ukraine to be with Russia.
And what American financed Ukrainian and Georgian goverments are trying to establish is quite a different matter.
We talk to so many Georgians and Ukranians living in Russia and that's how we know their attitude for their goverments.
Let's stop this cold war thinking. We are in 2008. It's the 21th Century. Russians want peace not war.
