I'd like to make something clear to everyone on here. I am not attacking Chinese nationalism, I dislike all nationalism, including Canadian nationalism. It is with the utmost objectivity that I say these cases that you pointed out, pug_star, are to a much lesser extent than what's happening in China and that it relates to nothing in the end. There's absolutely no reason to bring up other countries when criticizing China. If you want to criticize Montrealers for a dozen arrest after a riot that happened a month ago, fine, make another thread about it, we'll discuss it and I'll be able to discuss it without having to say "China did that". I wish I could expect the same from you. I don't know how many times I'll have to repeat this, but by golly, I'll copy and paste it until it goes through at least one of you.

Edit: Since you mention corruption, electing leaders doesn't reduce corruption, at least here in the US. As long as those Lobbyists keep helping them out with the finance with their election, it doesn't work. The last time when China has some 'freedoms' during 1982-1989, the Western funded NGO's paid western educated writers and scholars. These people abused the freedom of press by publishing the great ideas about upseating your government and the need for democracy.

I was calling for decentralized elections and general elections. If you want to throw in lobbyist, that's up to you, but I never advocated them.
Now, tell me how accountability works when there is none? Tell me how the CCP can solve problems within itself.
There's nothing wrong opposing your government. Just goes to show that democracy "Chinese-style" (AKA half ass) does not work.
