On alternative fuels - more fuel efficient cars is the most imporant. It's not an alternative fuel, but it gives us alot more time to look for them.

The next priority is nuclear power. Cheap, efficient, and there's alot of room for technological improvement. I've even heard that (though we haven't figured it out yet) there should be a way to harness energy from nuclear waste.

The next priority, connected to the second, is electric. I like the idea of hybrid cars, since an electrical powerout is the best kind of nuclear attack possible (excepting a nuke, if they can figure that one out), but we need to get our cars able to run on electric. That way we can use wind, solar, and nuclear to power our cars.
