Xenophobia is all over the world, it's far from a Chinese invention and it's really not a thing that strikes me as major here in Guangdong or Honkers. You live in Japan. How is it there? I mean in the local society, not on the base. I've heard Japanese society is very racist towards non Japanese but again: I have no personal experience. Just as far as I know, Cantonese is a more rude language [dialect] than Mandarin. Like English spoken by rural citizens, south of the Dixie line is also more rude than English from New Haven's profs of Yale.
