Country:
2008 Presidential Candidates: John McCain with Condi as VP

Party: Friday and Saturday nights only, I am getting old. (Republican)

Abortion: Roe –vs.- Wade was bad law. Return to states as an issue.

Affirmative Action: Should be eliminated. (agree w/ W.E.B.)

Alternative Fuels: Allow the market to decide. Market forces are already forcing more and more alternates. Discourage using food as fuel.

Capital Punishment: Would like to see it used under very high standards of witnesses and DNA proof of guilt. (agree w/ W.E.B)

Censorship: No censorship of government criticism. Pro-terrorism messages should be censored. No bare breasts or private areas on TV. (agree w/ W.E.B.)

Cuba: Lift the embargo before Castro dies.

Current Administration (Bush/Cheney): At one time I was very proud of Bush and Cheney. They handled the downed spy plane and “hostage” issue in China well. They handled taxes well and made it sound like they were going to be strong conservatives. Since a year after the Iraq stage of the war started, I have yet to be proud again.

Current Congress: Typical.

Education: State and local issues should be addressed more. End forced bussing. More accountability for going over budget. Fewer social issues, more reading writing and arithmetic. Less self esteem B.S.

Electoral College: It's a good system to ensure all states are treated fairly. (agree w/ caltex)

Flag Burning: As a part of a planned public demonstration or private rebellion, keep it legal. If you run out onto the field of a baseball game and try to burn the flag, make it legal for the players to kick your ass.

Foreign Policy: Recall all troops overseas that are not deployed in hazardous duty stations. (Iraq and Afghanistan and any troops fighting WOT in other countries) Any country that wants us back has to pass a public vote for us to come back. Re-evaluate all current policies and see if the unintended consequences are worth the intended ones.

Free Trade: Free trade plus. End all tariffs.

Gay Rights: Equal rights, not special ones. Marriage is a legal contract between 2 consenting adults. There is no legal perspective to take to disallow a gay couple from marrying.

Global Warming: I believe it is natural along with global cooling. Global temperatures being static, is abnormal. I do believe in not polluting.

Globalization: The only way to survive.

Gun Control: Aiming is important. Stop breathing while squeezing the trigger.

Healthcare: Pro-education. Prevention is very important. Those that are pro-universal healthcare should go in together on a universal healthcare insurance policy.

Illegal Immigration: Make it easier to get in legally, harder to get in illegally. Increase the amount of farm labor visas with serious consequences for those that overstay. Charge the government of the illegal alien for any criminal damages paid for by the state. Make it too expensive for the foreign country to be complacent.

Marijuana Legalization: We have enough vices, thank-you.

Media Bias: As long as humans run the media, there will be bias.

School Prayer: Should not be encouraged or discouraged by any school official.

Separation of Church and State: No established religion, no religious test for elected or appointed officials, the Federal government can not pass any law for or against anything to do with religion. States rights issue.

Social Security: (agreed) needs to be eventually phased out or privatized.

Stem Cell Research: Allow private funding to support it, federal funding where there is no controversy.

The Constitution: A historical document that if read properly already covers any issue that has come up. Does not need to be changed, just followed.

United Nations: A spineless group of diplomats. Should be Swiss based.

War in Iraq: Win the war. Pull out of the cities, surround the county and ensure no one but Iraqi’s get in. After stability, come home. No base in Iraq.

Welfare: Help the helpless, train the trainable, and discourage the malingerers.

Wiretapping: Should be done using an expedited judicial process for terrorism related issues. Lower benchmarks for people suspected of terrorism and non-US citizens. (agree w/ W.E.B.)
