I know about quite a few times when they were not only protesting Bizz ventures but also very local ones. Take my word for it, as I'm not going to look it up now. But surely Chinese have not the same way of freedom you're alluding to. Fact.
I'm glad though that you admit they are improving. Or better they were... because regarding the visa restrictions of today they look like a bit getting back into their shell. For personal greedy reasons I dislike that bunches
