I think it's very hard to confuse languages like French and Spanish, they are so different!
Yo no hablo francés
versus
je ne parle pas français.
I like to study languages though, so maybe that's why I hold that opinion.
I speak German about as well as a German 4 year old
, know enough Spanish to know when I'm being insulted, and a two dozen or so French phrases.
