First thank you all for your comments are well appreciated. My original post was in reaction to the newly French-bashing in Chinese media (right after the German-bashing, the American-bashing, etc.) and it was a bit sacarstic. Somehow some posters on this thread believe I’m advocating for the independence of Tibet then are just uttering their own nationalistic propaganda while clearly I’m not. I’m not even in favor of boycotting the Olympics if one reads carefully. PR China’s human rights issue with the Olympics and its double digit growth (don’t be ashamed of linking those three facts together) are rather baffling to me though.

I acknowledge some steps were made in regards to human rights and freedom of speech but the recent banning of foreign media from Tibet was certainly not one of them. If PR China wants to act as one of the leaders of the free world regardless of democratical issues it better allows others to make their own subjective comments. What I’m advocating clearly here is for the right of Chinese to protest all they want (even when it’s against the so-called wild wild west) and for the right of foreign media to cover it as well as they would in other parts of the free world savvy.
