Well if my neighbour is beating his wife & kids in his own house, even if I'm no part of his family, I make it my concern and I call the cops. Why? Because I'm a human being thus human rights are my biggest concerns.
BTW the French government doesn't support the Free Tibet movement. It just wants to make clear that the way China is dealing with Tibet is not acceptable. We are a democracy here, thus our government cares about people first. I really wish China would care more about human beings too.
