Switzerland has been a freakin fortress for ages, even if Germany would have tried to invade Switzerland, it would probably ended up an a Phyrrus-victory for them, making it not worth it. That as mentioned Germans had a lot of funds in Swiss banks surely helped as well

Neutrality is certainly effective in keeping incidents like terrorists activities, which are a direct result of Americas interenvtionist policy in the ME, at bay, but in the term of "normal" wars it doesn't help I fear.
