Television isn't directly harmful or even potentially hazardous to anyone but those who choose to watch it. That's the idea here. People
should be able to make their own decisions and do what they want as long as their choices and actions are not harmful or risky to those around them. Television is certainly not harmful or risky to those around the individuals choosing to watch it, and there's no evidence that indicates otherwise. It's an absurd theory. Marijuana is a completely different story--inducing side-effects that
are potentially hazardous and risky, side effects that are
outwardly unhealthy and unpleasant, etc.
