I have also taught black children, at various ages and in many different settings, and the truth is that many of them are taught by their parents AS WELL AS BY THE SCHOOLS THAT THEY ATTEND that they must band together as a race to "pay back" whites for centuries of mustreatment. They are not taught to try to move up in society by bettering themselves, rather they are taught to hate whites.
On the other hand, as a college professor, the black students that I have taught have proven to be some of the most hardworking and successful people that I know. Perhaps of black students are taught at a young age to aspire to be good human beings, instead of being taught to be good blacks, then I will see more black students passing through my classes and going on to be successful Americans.

This is not a racist statement. It is the truth, and as much as I wish that it was incorrect, I fear that it is not.
