2008 Presidential Candidates : Ron Paul (if he makes an independent run), John McCain.
Party : Independent. Lean libertarian, affiliated with the Democratic Freedom Caucus.
Abortion : I'm pro-choice, but it's the womans responsibility to pay her own way. Should not be tax-funded.
Affirmative Action : Reverse discrimination. Should be struck down.
Alternative Fuels : I'm all for them, energy independence is good for America. However, it's a serious problem they (or any other crop, really) are subsidized. It hinders the competitiveness of third-world farmers who need the money more.
Capital Punishment : Cruel and unusual punishment and a gross overextension of the State's privileges. No one should have a right to kill, and the State is no exception.
Censorship : Authoritarian, should not exist in any state-sanctioned form. V-chips are something else, though I think they're stupid.
Cuba : Fidel has survived the trade embargo for half a century, and he has only managed to maintain his credibility among his people because he could blame the evil Yankee empire for all the island's troubles. Lift the embargo, and that credibility will crumble.
Current Administration (Bush/Cheney) : Criminals, the lot of them. They should be impeached.
Current Congress : A bunch of pussies that let the President plow straight through them.
Electoral College : Irrelevant, if the functions of the federal government go back to what they originally should have been.
Flag Burning : Free expression protected by the 1st amendment.
Foreign Policy : Strong defence and non-intervention. Trade with all nations, fight with none.
Free Trade : The best way for poor nations to develop, prosper, and join the ranks of industrialized countries.
Gay Rights : I'm all for them, but we should keep the State out of it. Rather than give gay people the same legal benefits of being married as straight people, we should be taking those away from straight people.
Global Warming : Not 100% sure it's man-made, but it's still good housekeeping to curb CO2 emissions. Particularly because offenders are polluting everyone's air and that constitutes a property rights violation. I'd say privatize roads, eliminate subsidies on fuel and institute an emissions trading scheme.
Globalization : All for it.
Gun Control : If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them. I say loosen regulations, let it be easier for people to get guns.
Healthcare : We have a backwards, bureaucratic, corporatist morass of a healthcare system. I say scrap the whole thing and let the market take over. Prices will plummet.
Illegal Immigration : I find it an outrage it's illegal. We should have fully open borders.
Marijuana Legalization : End the damn drug war, it's an assault on our civil liberties and a waste of money.
School Prayer : In private religious schools, sure. Not in public schools.
Separation of Church and State : Paramount to a free society.
Social Security : A bankrupt system that desperately needs to be phased out.
Stem Cell Research : Sure, but not tax funded.
The Constitution : Needs to be revised a little, it's not libertarian enough for my taste. However, it's a brilliant document, the supreme law of the land, and should be followed to the letter.
United Nations : Should be in charge of policing the World instead of us.
War in Iraq : Idiotic, a waste of resources, criminal, and should end as soon as possible.
Welfare : Government welfare is wasteful, coercive, useless and counterproductive. It should be phased out and replaced with private charity.
Wiretapping : Big Brother imperialism, a crime that should not be allowed to endure.
