I mean we cannot see it in real time because of the massive timescales. (We don't see the evolution occurring in higher organisms as it occurs over millions of lifetimes, only have evidence laying out fossil evidence of like species existing in the past). The fossils no less provide a definite link, which is why i said that combined with the observed macro evolution of lower life forms, and the fossil evidence is more than enough to be conclusive that macro evolution occurred.
