Talking Please accept my apology WEB

Didn't mean to strike a nerve. I just feel that whenever people speak about rap, quite often someone feels the need to offer an explanation as to why they like it. That explanation usually never procedes other types of music. And I just decided a while back( while back cuz my ass is probably much older than u) that if you like something, just like the shit.

This conversation might not even interest you, but a question I've often wanted to ask folks is what makes music garbage or shit or whatever in your opinion.

Music serves so many different purposes. Not everything is meant to be deep. Sometimes it has no other purpose than to be FUN. That applies to rock, rap, r&b, country, whatever. I look at music to make me feel something. It can have a deep, thought-provoking political message. It can make you want to cry over your recent break-up. It can make you want to say "screw love i just wanna f#%k u right now." It can take you back to "back in the day." It can make you want to get up and dance. It can make feel something deeply spiritual. It can make you want to bob your head. It can invoke a feeling of pride in one's school, favorite team, country. It can be motivating during a work-out. It can help to calm you and assist in meditation. It can allow you to express rage. It can tell a story during a ballet or opera. And sometimes its only purpose is to provide a laugh.

I love music and can't imagine life without it and, for me, that includes rap.

East Coast, Harlem, West Coast, Midwest, and the Dirty South. Sugar Hill Gang to Whodini(I love you Ectsacy) to The Ghetto Boys to Tupac to Too Short to LL Cool J to Common to Luda to Public Enemy to Dougie Fresh to Slick Rick to Kanye to Queen Latifah to T.I. to David Banner. You know what...I even have fond memories of Too Live Crew...there I said it...this 38yr old white woman loves her rap damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will agree that creativity is a problem, for sure. But I just don't think one should throw a whole group of music (talkn bout the dirty here) under the bus. But that's just my opinion.
