At the very least the tax imposed on the media should cover the entire cost of the judicial system and law enfocement.
If the media had to pay these costs ,maybe we could have decent family shows promoting decent morals and stop the corruption of our youth.

Now, you can't say tax the media, without saying tax the rich. Are you really prepared to tax the rich while they can legally sell garbaaj to those who never get enough of seeing social failures in swim suits? If you want money I agree that the rich have got it all, and the property, and the country, and the governemnt, and our rights. But don't you have to fix the whole situation? Who put these people in charge of our broadcasting, our airwaves, and transmission facilities, and what is our cut of the deal?
If you want a free press, then show me a free press. Show me one that is free of the influence of government, and free of the influence of churches, and free of the influence of the power class. These people do not have the right unless they extend the right to all. Your voice, no matter how much wealth is behind it, should not drown another out. Cities should own their news papers rather than some distant lord, -even as political prizes -they would be better. They could not be worse than the propaganda rags we see today. So, I agree that no one has the right to sell poison even with another poison. But think of what is behind the media; -the money. And who is against media? Again it is the money. It is only a question of whether to attack the truth or subvert it. And when you own media you own truth. If that is the case it should be the people.
