Well yes, in our current form life would be utterly boring if it weren't for us trying to counter the suffering of existence. Feeding ourselves, living better, finding love, etc.
However, this is only our current state, I imagine it could be possible to be different, where we do not need this suffering to content ourselves. Perhaps there could be some form of existence where everyone could be perfectly content, but not bored to death.
